Description
I decided to draw all my characters from the comics I drew this summer in my comics class. I opted to leave it sketchy because there's no way I'm painting this, lol. I decided to pull a technique from one of my pals and just leave the background tan. What can I say, I learn from the best. Lazy artists rise up.Related content

Yeah, I do! Or well, I did. I had a summer class over the summer where I made comics. You can see them here:
If it only shows one page, just download it and the rest should come up.

You've gotta download the whole thing to read it! It's six pages in total. The other ones are four pages each. Use the download button on the side! Or, try switching to eclipse mode, I've heard that you can read the whole thing without downloading it that way.
Kinda! I drew them on paper first, and then I scanned them in and redrew them digitally. The program I used was paint tool sai. I used the line tool for the borders of the pages.

Mm,so, after scanning you paint them or what are you mean "redrawing digitally"?

Well, yeah! Actually, I can write about the whole process. The first thing I do is write a script for the comic, which is basically all the dialogue written down. Next, I make thumbnails for the pages. These are basically small versions of the pages that I make to make sure I get the layout right. Here's the process I use for that: www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7br4_…
After I draw the thumbnails, I either redraw them bigger on paper and then scan them in, or I'll just scan the thumbnails in and make them bigger digitally. After that, I make a new layer and draw over it to get the lineart for the comic. Then if I want to add painted parts I paint them in on another layer. It's a nice little process!

You're welcome! I'd like to see your comics. I used to draw them traditionally too, I mainly bring them into the computer to make it easier to share online, and I can print them that way too.

Thanks! Oh no, this is just me being lazy. I took one look at this and thought, nah, not going to finish it. lol. And yeah, the women didn't take me as long to render this time. Must be a good sign!

Yeah that's the neat part. Sometimes a sketch color piece is as good as a heavy investment piece of artwork. Drawing women faster? You are on the right path, adventurer, 😎 onward!

Coooool!!! This looks very nice! Colored sketches gang gang!
So the giant was still alive in the end. Great!
Now I wonder who that tan artist is... haha!

I'm sure that tan artist is someone that we know very well, ha. Yeah, I thought about finishing this entire thing, but I opted out. I think I can afford to be more simplistic at times.
I guess the giant knew he was outmatched against Jack, so he pretended to be dead to get him off of his back. I'd do the same thing, Jack is terrifying xD
