Description
So guys - i made a quick but useful (i hope) tutorial of a map creation. It's all stuff i used in my Windhall map. [link]Sorry for any mistakes - english is not my native language.
IMPORTANT: please don't ask for this brushset - it's a commercial project and you need to understand that it will be wrong to share these brushes.
So don't be lazy - make your own set - and this will be your unique drawing, not a template rip-off.

I may have to look over this when I get to the point of finishing one of my maps.

Very nice! Thank you for this dummy-proof tutorial
May I ask how do you manage tree brush overlapping? It seems to me brushes are monochromatic, so if you overlap the tree tops of a group to another group's trunks, these will be visible. Do you clean any single overlapping by hand?
ty in advance

Very good ideas.
On the tree cluster, I thought of something a little different (I guess):
Draw a bunch of trees on a layer, then make a second layer under that one and paint the background on the trees. Then merge both, and use that to duplicate the trees with the stamp tool!
This way you don't have to worry about transparency.
(which I guess you have... I didn't actually get exactly what's your method.)

Very very helpful!!! In all honesty, because it was so short I didn't think it would be that helpful. But, it really was! Thank you so much!

Great, girl! This is an amazing contribution. I'm working on a map (a world to say the least) since 2009. I'll let you know when I finish, I think you'll enjoy it. Keep on the great work!

This is so cool, definitely going to update my map with some similar techniques. I was having a hard time figuring out how to make trees especially all over the map - making a brush for them (and buildings, etc) should make it much cleaner and visually interesting.
Thanks so much for takingt he time to make this!

This is an excellent tutorial, I think if I ever make custom brushes it will be for something like this.

Actually it's the same way i did trees and buildings - but you can allways draw them separately as a unique object (like a mountain chain)

Well, you did a really good job, so I'm glad to see this! I didn't even think of trying to create my own brushes. I was going to just sketch everything by hand, scan and ink/paint it over in Photoshop! x.x
