At last, after another agonizing hour, it was over.

And the happy couple had become four. They'd expected three, of course, but an yet another mouth to feed wouldn't be too much of a burden on the family, what with Max's family wealth and Monica being a princess, even if her kingdom didn't quite exist in the current time period. In any case, it was finally over and they happily welcomed twins into their blossoming family.

"They're both blondes, just like their dad," mused the new mother. Monica was the very image of exhaustion, but a tired smile was permanently etched across her features.

"Well we do have more fun," Max replied. Obviously the delivery was much easier on his side of things, which left the young inventor with enough energy to be awestruck by his two sons. Sons! Him! A father!

Briefly he thought about his own mother and father, brought together by almost the exact same circumstances and having much the same result. His father was from the current time period, and his mother from the future. But due to the almost nonsensical parallel processing of time, she had to return to her own time period to fight, and his father never really was the same again.

The new parents had talked about this many times over the last few months, and Monica swore to him that she'd never do that to him, or their new family. Still, Max and Monica were both fairly heroic folk, and there was always a small fear in the back of his mind that one or the other would someday have to leave to face some grave new threat.

Max shook his head. No, no, now wasn't the time for that.

"Max," said the princess in a tired voice. She was cradling their twins, one in each arm, while lying in the workshop bed. "Why don't you take a picture now? This'd look much better in the album than... well, whatever it was you were going for earlier."

He turned beet red at that. Granted, he'd had some pretty strange photos lead to amazing inventions in the past, but what DID he expect from that earlier photoshoot? Aside from pictures of a half naked goddess rolling around in panther print.

So maybe it was just that. A little.

"You know, normally I take the pictures first and then make something new. This'd be the first time we make something new and then I take the pictures."

"Aww, that's so horribly poetic or something, I'm sure. Come on, take the picture already. I'm getting sleepy," she urged, punctuating it with a yawn.

"Okay, okay. Say cheese... "

See I wasn't going to leave you guys hanging on that hit-or-miss fetish that scares off the average viewer! There's still some adorable leftover!
