Description Hi @ all.

I did this a few times already, a terraformed Mars. But this is the my most recent one. One with which I'm really satisfied. And since I created it using public data and maps, I make it also public available.

This is Stock. It's free to use in every form you like. The only little thing I'm asking for is: Please link to this post and give me credit.

Beware, the file is 18mb heavy. Inside the downloaded archive you'll find a 4000x4000 .png and 4000x4000 .jpg.

Thanks a lot. The clouds are from one of my favourite cloud maps (the only cloud map in high res I could find on the net so far), which I use again and again. I just slightly edited some things and erased a few parts. If you're looking for cloud maps try this one:

Every few hours a new map. Not really that high in resolution but many variations over time.

Vielen Dank. Auf der rechten Seite sind einige Wolken (hoch in der AtmosphΓ€re) sichtbar. Das ist schon in Ordnung so.

That Canyon really shows, even when flooded with water, and I like how the craters are filled too, although it's more Earth-like, it still has a mysterious alien feel to it lol, I remember one of my first (proper)attempts at space art was a terraformed Mars, looks shit compared to this, but oh well, it's old

The only thing that bugs me is that the atmosphere still seems too bright and dense, it dosn't even "shine" that much on photo's of Earth from that distance but I guess it was intentional for a more dramataic result

Yes, I chose this angle of Mars because I needed some details which everyone who has seen a picture of our neighbour would instantly recognize. Valles Marineris is that detail. With the atmosphere I went a bit far, but it looks just a bit nicer this way.

Thanks a lot. And wouldn't it be nice to see Mars this way in our lifetime? To even visit it? I don't think it'll happen so soon, but many Scientists and Science-Fiction Authors do believe in terraforming the Mars. And mankind tends to do what is possible. We can achieve this.

It's the destiny of our descendants I think. Unless the transhumanists are right, anyway - then it will be us.
