Description
It is actually rather disgusting that there are some people who are so oblivious and delusional that they would DARE to compare that swine-shit, Barack Obama, to a man of such integrity as Martin Luther King, Jr. There is NO SIMILARITY between these two men. Martin Luther King, Jr. fought and gave his life for truth and equality. Obama is just a immoral arrogant hypocritical low-life back-stabbing boot-licking lying shit stain who has done nothing but deceived, misled, corrupted, and wiped his ass with the Constitutional rights he took an oath to uphold! These men are NOT similar by any stretch of the imagination.Frankly, if Dr. King was alive today he would probably be disgusted that the first "black president" of the United States was elected not because of his character but because of his skin color...and don't pretend like that isn't the only significant reason he was elected. Often during elections people vote for candidates based upon petty unsound reasoning like political parties and false promises anyway...throw a distraction like race into the mix and people just lose track of everything which is important. Political Parties and ethnic background are not important, the content of a person's character is!

Your comment doesnt make sense. The piece itself is depicably polemic. Everyone may state his/her opinion. But not in this way. And further more: This piece was intetionally created to stir people up. How can it be artistic in that way when you expect artists to keep calm?

I never said it was "artistic" , and furthermore its childish to engage in such a post , evn if you know its to stir people up. Whatever his opinion , let it be . That's all im saying. To take the bait , youre just feeding into it. I dont know what isnt clear about this. You said the word "artist". Shoulld we as "artist" shout out and feed into such political junk?

I get the point and agree that in general just ignoring such junk is the correct choice. However the community needs to define limits as well. That this "piece" was posted indicates that this process was neglected for quite some time.Β

I don't share my views to try and change people's mind. I share my views to show those who already think like me that they are not alone. If you don't like my work and what I have to say tough beans. YOU can shut the fuck up, for I have the right to express myself as I see fit, and don't give me that bullshit about this being an "art site", because its apparent you don't know what art is. Art is expression; expression of opinions, expression of emotion, expression of ideas. Because you have been stirred to anger merely shows my work to indeed be VERY artistic. I can't change your mind; as you likely don't have one if you actually support that lying cunt, but don't dare tell me what I can and cannot post simply because it doesn't agree with your limited scope of what constitutes as "art".
Also I suggest you do a bit of research and educate yourself on all the OTHER parties and candidates they're are. They are more than just fuckin' republicans and democrats, you sheep!

In that case what I'm typing right now is art too. In that case everything is art.Β
LOL who the fuck cares if there are more parties? The 2 main parties are these. If another party rises high enough to win the election then we'll talk. In the end we only have 2 choices. And in the end the democratic side always appears more open minded. I'm not a sheep. I support the most ideal choice, which again was Obama. If the republican side seemed more open minded I would be republican, no matter what everyone else says. Believe it or not you're not the only person who doesn't go with the flow as much. And believe it or not, not everyone chose him because he was black.Β
You throw shit on him now, but how do you know a different president wouldn't be different? You say he's lying, who is to say whoever you support doesn't? Everyone complains on how he didn't fix the economy, how do you know someone else would have?Β
Lemme tell you something. The majority of the ppl praise him because, he's like a huge relief to everyone after Bush. Which is true.Β

People like you crack me up.
You talk as if you knew what art is. Art has for centuries been used in the expression of ideas across many schools of thought, be they political or not. I shall not censor my own self-expression simply because you are narrow-minded. If you don't like what I have to say with my art, TOUGH! Shut up and move along; for the opinions of sheep matter little to me.

I'm looking at it because it sticks out like a sore thumb as something that is completely out of place on a site that is about ART! Not inflammatory shit storm-starting partisan propaganda posters. I hate when people ask "Well why are you looking at if you don't agree with it?" It's my first glance and I'm voicing my opinion. How you take it is on you. I spend time on this website to relax and be free of the ignorant crap like this I see everywhere else. This is not art. It's digital excrement.

Then instead of making a big stink about it, which makes you come across as a hater, why don't you do something more constructive if this bothers you so much?
"I hate when people ask "Well why are you looking at if you don't agree with it?"Β - If you don't like it or agree with it, why are you wasting your time stating your opinion about it, especially when it won't change anything?
π: 0 β©: 1
aFletcherKinnear In reply to abellius [2013-11-18 02:38:25 +0000 UTC]
More constructive?
...you mean like voicing my opinion and showing that there's people out there that do not think this belongs on this website? In which case if there were enough people voicing similar opinions it might prompt some sort of action? Perhaps along the lines of removing the content?
If that is the said goal and it is I really see no other "more productive" way to achieve it.
When people see something that is wrong or out of place they should speak up about it. This isn't a political site for people to rant about controversial topics that get people all up in a tizzy.
Everyone deserves freedom of speech but there are always consequences to everything you say. If you get people bitching at you for being offensive or out of line it's no one's fault but your own.

abellius In reply to aFletcherKinnear [2013-11-18 04:13:48 +0000 UTC]
There are plenty of people in this thread that has stated the exact same thing you have. But, if you think your tactless and nonconstructive response is going to change the artist's viewpoint or anyone else who disagrees with you, then you are sadly mistaken.
Since this picture is posted in the proper political category, this picture will not be removed. dA allows for political speech and art. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it should be taken down. Maybe you need to pay attention to what is allowed on dA before you go on a tizzy and say things that are not true.
Free speech does have consequences, but before you pull out the pitchfork and torches maybe you should make sure you got your facts correct or else you will look foolish.

I like how you stated the message that people need to learn to start making their judgments based on the individual's characteristics and choices and what have you, but I didn't care for your personal opinion on what you perceive President Obama to be as your example. However, I respect the fact you shared it even though I don't agree with it in a political sense, I am behind the overall message you've shared when it comes down to people and integrity. Thank you for sharing the insight and I appreciate you taking the time to create it in a way that gathers attention and allows people to consider and think things with a little bit of a new view point.Β

An ironic statement, considering your view of art is most uneducated it would appear. Art is anything which expresses and stirs ideas and emotions. Art is whatever the viewer wants it to be. But no matter how you want to put it, this is an art website where you're supposed to create what you're expressing with your own content.
Not take someone's images from a search engine and simply add text to them. Perhaps if you made this a typography piece we could talk.
This sort of thing does not belong on this website as it's not 100% yours and you weren't given permission to use the photographs by whoever took them or whoever owns them.
This is what Tumblr and Facebook are for.
By the rules on this website this is, in fact, not art; just stolen pieces used to express a political view.
Unless you have written permission to use someone's photos, even under creative commons on this website, it does not belong here.

I must say I'm greatly amused by all the wannabe art critics who are on this site. As I've told them all and I tell you too, art is anything which expresses and stirs emotions and ideas. This piece expresses both my emotion and my view of a very real truth, and has certainly stirred much emotion from the great number of "loud-mouthed opinions" I've received, so I take pride in its artistic merit; for the truth is that great art is measured either by how much its loved or how much its hated, so each bitter criticism this piece invokes makes me smile inside.
