Childhood and Early military service:
Aurora Garnette was born into a lower class family. Her parents were homeless when she hatched, although not for lack of a hard work ethic. They had simply fallen on hard times, harder than most. Aurora and her brother lived in total squalor, living in a cave in northern Spain, back before the Global Unification order was signed, and so was born into citizenship in Spain, in the waning days of the regime of David Sarcruz. Her parents were both killed in an armed terrorist attack in Barcelona , leaving her and her older brother orphaned, without any extended family. Escapeing their life, her brother carried her to America, where after a small amount of basic schooling, they both joined Project Angel under the United States Air Force.
As soon as she entered the service, she was recognized as a prodigy soldier. The one thing holding her back was her brother. She refused to leave his side for anything, believing herself to be the reason he was still alive at this point. After training, the pair were deployed with two others in a forward scout team, running recon for the eighth air force, as well as minor fire support missions. Aurora quickly rose through the ranks as her record grew ever more impressive.
She was present in the sacking of Moscow when the Voidwing military struck. Her brother suffered from serious injuries, but despite the carnage and ferocity of the attack, she managed to escape with a small group of civilians and soldiers, including one at the time second Lieutenant Sims.
Upon reaching friendly lines, Clancy was treated, and Aurora was awarded the Councillors Cross of Glory for distinguished service in the face of overwhelming odds. The siblings were also both promoted, and their names were put forth for commands of their own. Here to, Aurora would enter into the program with honors, claiming the top spot, known as Archangel, and became the very first creature to be awarded the title. Clancy, despite his struggle, followed in his sister's footsteps two months later.

Physical:
Aurora Garnette is small for a dragon. She is not much taller than a human being. This aids her in her intended role, which is to be the ultimate stealth and speed operative. She is dexterous and athletic, allowing her to worm her way into tight spaces, as well as use human structures with much more ease. Her wings were sheared off during an incident, and her leg was blasted to smithereens when she stepped on an anti-tank mine during the Black Shield operation, taking down the paramilitary group known as the NES. As such, she uses prosthesis for both. However, these prosthesis are part of the HALO mk5 suit, and as such, unless she is on an operation, she will not be using them. The HEAVN suit is designed to adapt to mission requirements. It's detailed specs are classified, but it's performance parameters are not. It can change it's shape using electromagnetically secured panels, and uses electromagnetic fields to propel itself. It is space worthy and can fly interplanetary missions, although it's range is exceedingly short. However, the wings and leg are powered by the onboard magnetic fields. As such, Aurora is hobbled severely when not on mission.
Personality:
Aurora is effectively, a genius. Nothing comes more naturally to her than breathing does to us, but in particular her skills are in combat, on all fronts, commanding or fighting, she is a born natural at it. She has lived her life in the shadows for so long that she's forgotten what the real world is like. With the destruction of Earth, she's used her pay to find herself a small apartment on the notorious star station, Draconis Omega. The station is known for rampant crime. She lives there to remind herself why she does what she does. She is haunted nightly by the dark deeds she's done in her career, and her survival in Moscow. However, she copes well with her traumatic stress, and is able to separate it, and not allow it to get in the way of her life or her job. She even managed to find a drake, who served in the Dark Wars as well, and they see each other frequently, on a daily basis, often times sleeping together for companionship. Despite their close relationship, Aurora refuses point blank to claim lifemate status with him, fearing she might become too attached and that someone could use him against her.
In combat, Aurora prefers to attack from absolute stealth, stalking and hunting her prey in the shadows until she can ensure a kill. Her favorite tactic is to kill her prey instantly, from silence.

If it has a very short range, wouldn't that make it more of an EVA-capable suit, rather than an interplanetary one?

Not really. The short range but high speed is still interplanetary capable, but it could only travel for a couple thousand light-years instead of the millions that some starships can achieve, for intergalactic travel. It's so that a discrete vessel can get her close to a system, and then she can travel to a planet herself.

I have to say, I find the idea of electromagnetic drives to be an interesting concept. It would certainly be a efficient means of propulsion, similar in a way to the Hr'Uth inertia-drives used by most smaller Shal'Dranic craft. I would think that the EM signature would make anything using the drives rather easy to detect, though.

Depends on how you use it. The EM drive doesn't project a very large local field, only large enough to work with the different panels of the suit. It can also radically change shape to fit the needs. As an example, different parts of the construct can be used as weapons in a pinch. The claws, wings, and tail spade, whenever they are deployed can be used as short range projectile weapons, able to use lethal force out to around a range of about fifty meters, no more. Whenever Aurora does this, and she does this a lot, as her own elemental powers are far more chaotic, and this is a precision weapon, she appears to throw the metal shards at her enemies. But what actually happens is the suit modifies the EM field to carry the part of the suit she's using with it, actually sharpening and elongating it. This does raise the EM signature of the suit drastically whenever she attacks, but not so much that she broadcasts her location to everyone in the local area.
For flight, in both atmosphere and space, the system works on similar principles to a star trek warp drive, except with magnetism, or more along the lines of a real world Ion drive, by ionizing particles in front of her, and electrifying her skin so that it draws them along and forces them out the back. Gyros are used for directional control in space, and the wings are actually used for directional control in atmosphere.
As I said, the system has a short range, but a high speed. I never detailed that speed, but after some quick maths in my head, I figured it to be around 100 light-years in a year, but she can only travel about ten light-years before the cells are dry, that's about a month and a half of travel time. In atmosphere, max speed is Mach 12. Speed is far more of her defense than stealth, but she can also be exceptionally quiet when she needs to be. For instance, that EM field can be rigged for ultra low emissions, and contains itself to the skin of the suit itself, giving out no emissions in the process.
