Description
Hey, hey, hey! Welcome to the 2nd riddle of this premiere week! Want to know more details? click here! Like last time, the answer will be an episode part of this show. So, here is the riddle for you to figure out the answer:Two attempted,
but outwitted.
Who shall I root?
The old or new?
And to let those know, this scorecard is part of my premiere week ranging from May 21st to the 27th, so be on the look out!
Unlike Adventure Time, I used to watch Regular Show very often. The range of the episodes I watched were from Seasons 1-3 when I was little. I had a lot of memories with this show, quite possibly grew up with this show. In 2014, I watched this show again, this time ranging from Seasons 4-5. The last episode I've seen before I started reviewing Regular Show, after wrapping up Adventure Time , was Bad Portrait. Since my TV was sold, I didn't watch this show until I had plans reviewing this show when cartoon reviewers were talking about A Regular Final Epic Battle and how special it was.
Another trip to the past and I guess it was worth it. The pie chart is actually comparable and fairly alike Adventure Time's pie chart. The good slice is big and to come my surprise, no damned episodes! I was really happy that this show has two epic episodes (The Last Laserdisc Player and Format Wars II). While watching these episodes, I've always wished that Format Wars was an actual miniseries. If that ever exist, I would've enjoyed it from start to finish, and could consider it better than Invader Zim. But I digress, the pie chart isn't all perfect though, since nearly half of the pie chart is ample and below, but it still looks good. I would've been exhausted if Regular Show actually became alright, but I think ample's ample enough.
Regular Show isn't as good as Adventure Time in my opinion, so let's take a look at the writing while not comparing it to Adventure Time's better writing.
First off, the premise is actually really good, better than Adventure Time's generic premise. Anthropomorphic animals is something that could make this show interesting rather than just "regular". However, I do have a problem with the content of the show being too mature for Cartoon Network. Yeah, I think Regular Show is better on Adult Swim, along with Total Drama. But anyways, the writing here is strange but really creative and fun. In most episodes, it takes an every day activity and exaggerates on how it'll end. In some episodes, there's the weird climax that actually makes the episode more creative and interesting. What I love more about the writing is how Regular Show references nostalgia and exaggerates it to a more creative, well-thought out and interesting material. The ideas can sometimes be a little psychedelic (Peeps), but I love how they throw in a variety of jokes to make the episode better.
Also, I'll talk about the humor here too because no humor is the reason why Season 7 is meh: The humor is pretty good, not the best humor out there, but I like this show's humor. Irony is what makes many people laugh, and this show has the ability to give irony to us, and I'm also talking about the interesting-roasting-funny-impact induced twists that actually made me laugh. Heck, some of the characters are funny too with their running gags/catchphrases making me laugh sometimes. That's all I talk about the humor of the show, but the reason why Regular Show's humor is solid is because starting from Season 5, the episodes are getting blander, and because of those couple-related episodes, these type of episodes aren't funny at all. I count humor in all the episodes of Regular Show because I feel like this show's genre is a comedy (from the 1st season and pilot). Because of that, Seasons 5-7 started to feel like dramas to me, which ruins the experience for me. A few episodes were heartwarming, but they ended up affecting the show's genre.
Because of most of Season 7 being sooooooooo boring to me, I had to be distracted instead of feeling like I'm wasting time. They're probably intended, but I get annoyed when that happens. I feel like I'm losing hope in the show right in Season 7, so as I thought what would be better for me, is if there was no Season 7, but move a few episodes from Season 7 to Season 6 (because that season is shorter than the previous season) such as Win That Prize, The Dome Expirement Special, Pam I Am, and especially Rigby's Graduation Day Special, so that I don't have to face through being bored in an entire season. If someone explained the public to not watch Regular Show Season 7, I would've done that and skip to the more important episodes rather than the character developed episodes. But I had to review the entire series, so that's an obvious reason why I had to watch Season 7.
But still, with blandness being a huge issue to my experience with the show, I really enjoyed how bizarre each episode can get, but not couple-related episodes 'cause they're not my type.
Wow, that took so long to explain the writing. I promise to be short with the animation:
The animation is not as good as Adventure Time, but it's still good, better than the okay writing. While I don't like the bland colors, I think the character designs are possibly as good as Adventure Time's characters. I like how their faces are designed, how some of them are anthropomorphic/based off objects, and I like how some of the characters are given some human features. Like Harvey Beaks, the backgrounds looks like they're from a children's book/an educational cartoon from the 90s, which actually makes up for the bland color use. I thought this show uses watercolor, but I know that Regular Show isn't traditionally animated. However, I love it how they animated the alternative universe (you know what I'm talking about) because they just look really cool, creative and imaginative, thus it's my favorite aspect about the quality. As for the audio, I sure like how the characters are voice acted and the ending credits is so addicting, I can't stop listening to it in class! Like Adventure Time, the quality isn't all that great because it feels too much like an Adult Swim cartoon, I can sometimes get annoyed with some of the voice acting and how the faces move, but I think they're still good with those cons.
You see, the quality section is shorter. I'll be talking about the characters next:
I actually like the characters more than Adventure Time's characters. Though they can get annoying sometimes, I like how they can be funny/given development. Usually, I love any episode that show the character's best aspects and why they are great characters. I think that when we get to learn more about them, I start to love them more and more every time when this show progresses. Yeah, some characters are cliched and they're rips from other shows (Margaret and C.J. reminds me too much of Princess Bubblegum and Flame Princess because they're both the love interests of Mordecai and Finn), so that's why I don't like some of the characters from this show. They're like Adventure Time's characters, but a little bland, a little generic, and more cool and interesting. The characters can be jerks sometimes, but I don't have that much of a problem with them. Or, the drama from the writing can be too dramatic where I feel like the characters are rather making pointless implications or being unlikable bland rips from other shows. I tried explaining more about the characters of Regular Show more than my other scorecards because I'm trying to balance the amount of words used for each section. But anyways, the characters are ample, thanks to their awesome depth and personality, but can also be dis-likable as well.
If you take out a few seasons (especially Season 7), Regular Show would've been a jolly good show with the bizarre writing being fascinating with the supernatural sequences, divine character designs and awesome depth from most of the characters, but sadly, it's ample (71%) thanks to how bland and dramatic this show can get. I wished this show was jolly good, but I didn't ask for some dramatic episodes to keep me bored. However, from the ratings that most cartoon reviewers use, ample rounds to good, so yeah, I guess that Regular Show is a good show, a jolly good show after all. *sigh* Oh well, I bet Gumball will be funnier.

Format Wars II is an Elite now? Well it's not that much of a demotion anyway.
What's the next Elite episode that's up for demotion?

So it looks like an episode shrinked from an "Off the Scale!" to a plain "Elite". Well, I noticed that this episode felt too similar to its predecessor and the humor is hilarious, but not really funny to the point of almost bursting my lungs that I realized that its former rating wasn't that deserving.
What a stinker. I can tell you that a scorecard has absorbed this show's "Off the Scale!" rating.

I've seen your two favorite episodes, which are the only episodes of Regular Show I've seen because I have a thing for video formats. I thought they were pretty good. I didn't know you'd think they're that good. I think I should review as many Transformers and Cartoon Network shows as I can before the Season 1 finale (Complete SpongeBob scorecard). Regular Show's scorecard will come out before SpongeBob's.
"Oh well, I bet Gumball will be funnier". It was funnier, but not better.

Dunno. they're both on the same level, meaning their percentage is very close to each other.

For me this show is good from start to finish, the only thing i don't like is that in the first seasons has a lot of episodes focused on comedy, but after that the episodes are less focused on comedy, there's still plenty of funny moments but not in a consistent basis like the first seasons

Say could you read a fanfiction I wrote and rate it when you're done? I worked really hard on this.
There 4 parts to this. Keep reading until you get to the bottom. The last 3 parts are there where it says more from.
