Description
For the same article as previous image. It makes me laugh how I use light, fluffy children's book/ girlie mag colours for a serious science editorial and dark, spooky colours for kids books... what can I say... i'm an enigma to myself...Related content

lol! Awesome! I'd love to see soemthing with this tone in a NEw Scientist article. I think it would actually hammer the point home more than some drak gritty illustration.

When I say "with some illustrations edging on what i'm producing here" I was referring to my style, not the fact I think my illustrations are amazing, which I definately don't!!! O_o I just suddenly realised what that statement sounded like after i'd signed off the internet and I got really panicy that you'd think i'd turned into some sorta ego-maniac... I mean i'll be the first to admit I do have an ego... but it's evened out by bi-polar self-loathing as well... I think all arty peps are like that to some extent!

lol! Don't worry XD Even if you were assuming a bit of superiority I wouldn't grudge you it XD You're a cut above most illustrators, proffessional or no.

Many thanks, but I REALLY disagree. For starters, i'm still lacking the drive. Only just starting to get it back after years of it getting worn away by comparing myself to others and getting dis-heartened.
I think for drive alone, you're ahead of the game of most peps in your field, let alone your beautiful artwork!

"drak"? ... oh! dark. Sorry ^__^ took me a minute! Actually, although New Scientist still does produce some bum crud images now and then, I think in general their quality is getting better, with some illustrations edging on what i'm producing here... and they also don't seem to employ "traditional" editorial illustrators, who think a floating head, set of scales and a giant questionmark is a solution to any article >_👍: 0 ⏩: 0

You're an enigma to everyone, sweety - it's why we love you.
Another really cute, really disturbing image! I love how sensitive this is, and this one's not quite so.... controversial. I guess because the pregnant lady isn't so obviously pregnant, and she's not drinking - she's just thinking about it! Which issue will this be in?

It's not gonna be published. The article was published a few months back with a different illustrators image. I just used the article for practice.
