Description
Ok here it is, my planet tutorial. Its not really the way i make my planets. But this is also a very simple way to make a nice planet in less than 10 minutes, i hope it helps some of you. If there are any questions no problem just ask.Comments and favs are welcome, view at FULL view
EDIT
I think the most mistakes (grammar ...) are changed: Thx to ~SatyrsFaction give him some credit

Ya! Awesome tutorial
(Like xialoli here) I was wondering about them stars too!
I figure it would be several layers of dots, copied and pasted everywhere, with varying opacities, and a slight outer glow.
Thanks for taking the time to make this nice tutorial +Fav

to make a starfield, just open a document twice the size you want the picture to be. render some noise, then adjust the levels of it to make a few really bright and most of the others kind of dim. then, just scale it down 50% and there ya go.

Awesome job. One thing though. In step 2, it says "Filter > DISTROCT > sphereize..." um... should that be DISTORT or am I reading it wrong?

Double click the layer quickly and wait for a while. The effect option should pop out

I recommend you to open a blank page and try every single function . Try all the tools, settings and stuff to see what they do

in your tutorial you say 'hold your selection'
I dont know what or how you mean (im new to PS BTW)
can you ecplain that better because i cant seem to get the inner shadow and glow effectsa to work for some reason...
nice tutorial BTW, im glad someone made the effort to tell us newbies on how to do it...

Maybe you forget the ad a new layer and fill it with a color and then you have to change the Fill (layer setting) to 0% and then you can add inner glow ... on that layer.

This is a nice tutorial, but as i've noticed and i think many others probably have gathered. This is basically a copy of dinyctis' tutorial but in your own words.

it maybe don't look real but it dont have to and if you want a real planet you have to use other sorts texture and add some clouds etc. but this is just a simple planet tutorial for new people i know it is not a good tut for you and much other artist but for the new people i think its helpfull

Well I think it's pretty dang nice looking. I've been working on some planets myself, started not too long ago. And though i have been able to make some decent looking ones, these you have are much ebtter. This will be most Helpful. Thanks dude!

I always have to laugh when someone says "that planet doesn't look real" because let's face it, who among us has ever seen ANY real planets from that perspective? (other than grainy NASA satellite photos of a few planets in our solar system)
Great job man, and thanks for sharing. I'm sure it'll help someone.

if you want more help than this, a tip is to use sattelite maps for the planets, then just distort them at your will by changing colours etc to make them look like different planets
