Ok here it is, my planet tutorial. Its not really the way i make my planets. But this is also a very simple way to make a nice planet in less than 10 minutes, i hope it helps some of you. If there are any questions no problem just ask.Comments and favs are welcome, view at FULL view

The shape of the shadow looks odd in step 5, it seems different and better in the final setup - which is rather sexy, for planets

Don't let any of them get to you. You always have to take the good with the bad. For a 13 year old that set out to make a simple planet tutorial, I think you did an awesome job. Plus, you got yourself into the daily deviation spot.

no matter what people say.. it's a good tutorial and you leave the creativity to people.. you don't have to write everything or make great planets on this tutorial.. it's up to people who use this tutorial and create what they have in mind.. i liked it and it's enough for me and will download it..

Not sure what it's called but there is a great planet generator plugin for Photoshop out there somewhere, you can add weather effects and everything. But still a nice tutorial, good stuff.

hm, I make my planets a different way, and I think there are methods to create more detailed planets, but they require more work. but for beginners this is a really nice tutorial I think, should be useful

yes i know but i made this one fo beginners who want to learn how to make a nice simple planet in less then 10 minutes, you can make more detailt planets but is longer work

It depends from what sort but uselly something about 40 min

my biggest problem are the textures, it's difficult to develop a detailed one, that looks good after spherizing.

I have your solution memod. When making planets, make them as big as you can afford, and shrink it afterwards. Then it will look as good as anything

yes you can download them or make them self with terragen or to take some photo's of rocks etc...

I must figure out how to import height maps into terragen, to generate seamless terrain textures. then I think I will improve a lot in this
