With the popularity of my Disney Female Faces tutorial [link] , I decided to do a few more tutorials for beginner artists.

One of the most important art principles you need to learn is perspective. Perspective can turn a flat drawing into a dynamic illustration. The first you need to learn is the 1-Point Perspective.

It sounds and looks simple enough, doesn't it? You simply draw a horizontal line as the horizon, place a dot somewhere along the horizon, and then sketch guide lines radiating out from the dot (like spokes on a wheel).

I used an landscape sketch for this tutorial, because I feel landscapes are the easiest and help a new artist get comfortable with drawing guide lines.

My Advice: Use soft, feathery, quick strokes when sketching. Ignore your eraser. This is PRACTICE so it's okay if the drawing is not perfect. Don't give yourself too much time to think, just draw and draw quickly. Once you are done with one sketch, draw another and another. Practice, practice, practice! But, most importantly, have fun.

Anyway, I hope this tutorial is useful to someone, and I will be doing more perspective tutorials soon.

Edit: Bumped up the contrast so each panel is easier to see. Also changed the font of in the notes at the bottom. Enjoy!
