Description For "Star Wars: The Card Game" published by Fantasy Flight Games. It doesn't really matter who shot first - Han Solo is the only one who leaves the table.

Hahaha yeah things are definitely getting really convincing these days with CG. And I can kind of see the justification for wanting the original films to feel a little more connected to the prequels with over the top cg stuff. Though I would argue that the real remedy for that would have been to just not go overboard with it in the prequels in the first place, but that's a whole other discussion lol. But yeah especially in games things are looking crazy good. The new SW Battlefront looks amazing.

Well as someone who has been waiting for ten years its both a welcome sight AND a very sad one. From what I have seen it really just looks like a Star Wars Battlefield game than Battlefront. And the CG stuff really made the prequels look likeΒ  the golden age they were supposed to be and the og look like the dark ages. I I were to remake the og trilogy I would just redo all the space skirmishes and the battle of Endor to be more uniform. That last battle was always lacklustre for me so when I saw the massive space battle in revenge of the sith I freaked out.

I think any fan can agree that whoever shot first the outcome would be the same and if Han didn't shoot tor if he did hen Greedo would have shot either way or whatever happened lol. It all ends the same.

This is just too awesome, though itΒ bugs me that Greedo's name has been misspelled so much by the folk commentingΒ on this, and that old pirate Han shot first, we all saw it happen back before Lucas lost his mind and decided to crap on his own franchise with those special additions!!Β

Han didn't shoot first. There were lots of people doing lots of shooting before Han was even born.

Really nice piece. I just have a couple little nitpicks about the blaster bolt. First, at first glance it looks like a bit too much like a lightsaber. Second, it's at a slightly different angle than the blaster itself, which isn't a huge deal but it's one of those things you can't un-notice. Oh well. No biggie.

I'm curious: How much did you worry about matching up with the pose in the film? I'd go back and check for myself, but I have the special DVD "Han ducked out of the way" edition. I like the idea here; Han's not only literally shooting from the hip, but the whole pose just makes him look so lazy. It's so smug. "Yeah, I'm gonna kill you now without even bothering to move my arm." Great stuff.

JakeMurray In reply to thereallinebyline [2014-06-07 21:08:44 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Yeah I tried to match the pose as much as possible, though the angle makes it impossible to show his left leg propped up on the table the way it is in the movie.

It really doesn't matter who shot first.

Usually, the one with the better aim is the one standing afterwards.

Kingake In reply to JakeMurray [2018-06-29 01:17:22 +0000 UTC]

The real problem isn't what character shot first, it is an author can't modify art done. You can make a new version, but Lucas refused to keep the old one si it wasn't a v2 but an order 66 concerning the v1. It disrespects people of first trilogy and it's a fact tyou can't modify art. Buy a Picasso, you can expose it but even if it's yours you can't draw on it. Han shoot first isn't a question of "that character is more badass" it is a question of what you can do with a product that becomes a popular legacy.

JakeMurray In reply to Kingake [2018-06-29 13:36:31 +0000 UTC]

The main difference between your analogy and the Han change is that George Lucas was the original artist and sole copyright owner of the work, and was legally well within his right to do whatever he wanted with it (in his eyes, the film wasn't finished yet - even though it was). Was it a bad decision to try to phase out the original version from existence? Yeah, I'd say so. Like you said, give us version 2 in addition to the original, not instead of it. But, do fans perhaps confer a little bit too much ownership of the thing they love upon themselves? Yeah, I'd say so.Β
