You really caught the essence of not only the character but the actor as well. The dignity and slight arrogance Dooku had makes me think of Lee as Dracula in the old Hammer films.

I agree. Poise, condescension, and an air of gracefulness to his demeanor. I can easily imagine him being the type to be as likely to find himself in the midst of a duel to the death as he would be to be at a large window overlooking a city with a glass of fine wine in his masterful fingertips. He is easily my favorite Sith Lord, as he was very much based on Sir Christopher Lee. From his aristocratic background, his refined fencing skills, and history as a hunter of Nazi war criminals, there are a startling amount of similarities between actor and character. I would have loved to interview Sir Christopher myself, as he was a figure of fascination for me as a child.

Count Dooku was always an interesting character to me, these movies coming out as I was growing up. Even though he was obviously a bad guy, he never really frightened or repulsed me the way Darth Sidious and Darth Maul did.

no man, I'm old. I was 4 years old when ANH came out. Vader was scary, sure. Then when he said he was Luke's Father, I was sure he was lying. When he wasn't lying, I was PISSED. I was robbed--and Luke was robbed--of his noble Jedi father that Vader betrayed. But here was THE EMPEROR, holy shit. When Vader died because he stopped him, I thought "good". Then the prequels gave me Dooku. An elegant villain of the old school, played by one of the actors that exemplified the concept.

Now this fascinates me. I've not yet come across someone who grew up with the OT who actually PREFERRED any of the villains from the prequels. I grew up with the prequels and honestly didn't like Dooku much at all. But this piece was at least a chance for me to explore and emphasize his charm, which I did enjoy.

I don't prefer the Prequel villains to the OT ones, but I do still think they're great villains overall, and I DEFINITELY prefer them to the rampantly overrated Kylo Ren and Phasma, who are OK but don't hold a candle to Count Dooku here. I thought he was a great villain.

Yeah. I came across a video the other day about how all of the tantrums and yelling that the First Order top brass do just makes them seem weak and unorganized compared to the original Empire. Hadn't thought of that before, but I definitely think it has some truth to it. You never see Dooku raise his voice. Like, ever.
