Description Okay, so since I'm not sure about selling my emotes, I thought I'd at least make the pattern(s) available.

This PDF has the patterns for 8 of the emotes I've done so far:

For the two I haven't included, I can't remember the patterns of the facial parts (that's what I get for not writing them down right away ).

More emoticon crochet patterns:

EDIT:
Whoops, noticed a little mistake in my wording for the assembly of . Fixed it. And while I was on it, I improved the base pattern at the first 2 rows and the last.
Nothing too wild, the old patterns work just as well.

EDIT 2:
You guys are crazy, you know that? Another DD?
Happy to know they're so well received, though. Hope you enjoy.
And many, many thanks.

The Emoticon Project: [link]

Patterns free to use. Have fun.
(If you've made emote plushies using my patterns, I'd love to see them and if you upload photos, please credit me and link to this deviation. Thanks.)

No selling - either of the pattern or of the finished emotes!
I don't do it, you don't do it.

I'm not sure if i understand. Did you make those emoticons and then made the crochet off of them? thanks

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

janey-in-a-bottle In reply to loselips-sinkships [2010-09-13 23:06:08 +0000 UTC]

no, the emotes (as in the graphics) were all done by other people. I just wanted to have my own stressball set without having to order one. and after I finished those first 4, I just kept going.
people started asking me if I would sell the emotes, but since only the patterns are mine and not the emotes, I made the patterns available, so that everybody who wants to have crocheted emotes too can make them themselves.

OHHHH! Alright, I understand! Thanks for explaining. It's a very innovative idea. To have stress ball emotes. Great creative thinking on your part.

ah well, poor has been misunderstood before. he's used to it now.
(in the PDF I have the side shots included, instead of the front shot, so that people will know how to apply the hearts. but for the cover they are all aligned. he turned out to be the unlucky one in that case. )

happy to know I can motivate people to make their own emotes. once you get the hang of them, they're fairly easy to make, too.
have fun making them.

Woooaah, das ist so cooool!
Totaly amazing! Gott, girl! I bet you would really SELL if you started making those and sell them and stuff XD
Christ, that's reaally awesome o.o And I was so proud of finaly making myself a scarf...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

janey-in-a-bottle In reply to Coramel [2010-09-13 21:29:33 +0000 UTC]

you know, I'd so fail at making scarves...
and that's mostly because scarves are looong and repetitive and therefore boring (says my brain ), that I lose motivation early on. for the same reason I really dislike those 6 rows of crocheting only single crochets at the middle of the emotes already. and that's only 240 stitches.

I don't dare to sell them, as I don't hold the copyright to them, but next year I want to open commissions for non-emote plushies. we'll see how well that'll go.

glad you like by little "babies".

YAY, I must remember to get one then

Aww, is not possible NOT to like them

janey-in-a-bottle In reply to Coramel [2010-09-13 21:52:57 +0000 UTC]

but you finished that scarf. I've started a bag in december last year, stopped working on it in january and haven't had the motivation to start on it again, yet. my mom keeps asking me if I'm any closer to getting it finished, simply because she liked the way it already looked. but since it's only about 1/4th done (if not less), I doubt it'll be finished in a year - not even from now...
so you rock for sticking to your project.

thanks.

Coramel In reply to janey-in-a-bottle [2010-09-13 22:00:17 +0000 UTC]

Meh, it was a SCARF!
It's just knitting forwards and backwards and forwards and backwards all the time.
You started knitting on a BAG, now that's different and harder to do.
Well, Thanks

I hope you'll find motivation to continue on the bag soon, and I expect to see pictures out on dA when you're done, because I'd love to see the result n_n

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

janey-in-a-bottle In reply to Coramel [2010-09-13 22:06:03 +0000 UTC]

it's exactly the "backwards and forwards and...", or in my case the "round and round and..." that's such a turn-off for me - even though my bag has a colorful snake pattern running in a broad stripe down it's back and front. but it's still quite tedious...

I'll try to work on it some more in december, over my christmas break from work. and if I ever finish it, I'll definitely post it here, because I'll be just sooo proud I actually managed it.

Ahaha, I get what you mean. Didn't knit on my scarf for a month because I just got all SICk of it! It's quite incredible how sick of you can get of making something. Hence all my unfinished drawings

Yey Can't wait ^^
Promise you wont ever throw it away *puppy eyes*
I don't care if we get super old before it's done xD
I wanna seee!
