A tutorial for eyes just because.Hurr, it's really simple. It can take 3 layers if you wanted to. Which I did. xD
Here are the steps.
1: Let's start! Fill in the base colors. I used blue just because.
2: Start off with a top-to-bottom gradient.
3: Add a blurry circle in the center. That will be your pupil.
4: Add another gradient with a darker color. Add a pupil again, but but don't make it blurry.
5: With the base color, add eye shine to the top part. Then add a faint blurry circle on the pupil.
6: With a lighter color, add some shine at the top and bottom.
7: Add some eye shine.
OPTIONAL: On a new layer, set it on overlay and add blur to the top and bottom.

...Just want to say something to people who are saying this isn't how "real eyes look":
In case you didn't notice, it doesn't say "realistic eye tutorial". It's just how she draws her eyes on her characters. You can apply how she colors and shades the eye, and try your own style.

You might be interested in GIMP ([link] ) or Portable SAI (a bit shady, as it's a portable and free version of a program you have to pay for, but I'd get it anyway. You don't have to install it, just extract it to your desktop. If you need tutorials for it, Google "tutorials for paint tool sai". [link] ). Both of these are free.

Eh, looks to under detailed and soft. Good tutorial for your style of eyes though, and it works well since most of what you draw is uniform in color theme.

Okay well as much as the art style is clean or whatever, it's still not an accurate representation of an eye. Sure, its ANIMUUUU but thats a hobby style. If you seriously want to learn how to draw eyes, reference PHOTOGRAPHY and look at actual tutorials, not KAWAII DESUUUU EYES *_*

The only mistake here was that the title says "Eye tutorial" instead of "Anime eye tutorial", but I find it pointless to ban this tuto only because it's not the actual way to draw a human eye. Many love animes and look for tutos like this one to imitate the style.

The mistake is that people will probably try to imitate the style and then just draw animuuuuus for their entire life. Not a constructive way to learn art.

To be fair though, some people (including myself, though I'm nowhere near good) like drawing in that style. It doesn't have to be realistic, it's just a part of that art style.
I do think there should be more realistic eye tutorials out there though, I've hardly seen any, and it would be a nice break from the copious amounts of anime style eye tutorials. There are so many styles out there, I wish we'd see more of them.
Nevertheless, the artist has skill, that is undeniable.
