You can touch that llama all night until hell freezes over! Heh heh heh... But not me, though, uh-uh, no-siree-bob, I wouldn't touch that old thing. Llama hasn't been feelin' so good. Whoo! Smells funny too. Smells really kinda rank, you know? But you can touch it if you want! Ain't no law says you can't! Ain't that right, Mikey? Ain't there no law that says these folks can't touch this smelly old llama if they want? Huh, Mikey, huh? Huh?MIKE: ...You people bring matches for Mikey?

I've actually shown it to family and friends who don't know what Mystery Science Theater was as an introduction to the show. Nothing beats Aunty McFrank's!

The only time Mike went shirtless on MST3K and DIDN'T look appealing (banjos play in the woods). Though I'm a Joel fan, Mike was always rather handsome (though I have a soft spot for Joel's laid-back warmth & boyish cuteness & sweetness). Now, "Lord Of The Dance", hot. Glen the colossal guy, hot (even with bald cap), clad in postage-stamp-sized trunks, hot. Inbred backwoods pyromaniac weirdo, Good Old Fashioned Nightmare Fuel!

I didn't start watching MST3K until they were on SCIFI. I have got a lot of catching up to do. I've been working my way through the series in not praticular order. I am almost done with The Black Scorpions so I check The Amazing Transparent Man next then.

You totally captured his creepy expression in this picture. Yes, for those of you who haven't seen this episode, he really DID look like that. It was downright _disturbing_, and got more and more so as the skit went on 'cos he just kept doing that look, and kept doing it, and KEPT doing it, right into the camera. The overall effect was that by the end of the skit, I was about ready to leap over my living room's back wall to get away from "Mikey".
In other news, I also have to put in a vote for your backgrounds. They rock. I almost never remember (read: bother) to _do_ backgrounds at all, in my pictures. I tend to just draw the character and leave. Heh.

Mike looks possitivily... primitive in this picture (Probably the overalls). It's been awhile since I'd seen the episode in question, although I wonder if he did bear a look of stone-faced creepyness.
Something I've always noticed in your MST3k peices is the amount of detail you put into the backgrounds. Guess that's more of an observation than anything else, but I can appreciate the effort one would put into such a picture.
Just a thought though, perhaps you could try replacing the outlines in the picture to solid colors (as I did for the characters in my Cave Story peice), perhaps just darker shades. I'm not sure how well it will work, but it might make the main cast stand out a bit more.

I remember seeing the movie of Mystery Science Theater 3000 on TV and I thought it was funny how they made funny comments on films (before we ever had DVD commentaries 
BTW, that title made me think of Emperor Kuzco.
