Very good inks. I liked this so much, that I added some colors to it. Here is a link to it >>> Batman

It looks like him, but honestly I don't know. I haven't read the book or the script.

There is a tone of amazing detail here, must have taking a gazillion hours to ink?

I honestly couldn't tell you, as I don't remember. I believe it progressed at the same rate as I normally work at; so guessing, maybe 10-15 hours give or take?

Panel for panel, I think these stand out as the best of your best. The masses show as masses and the detail sets them off, instead of attracting attention to itself.
Sure, #4 and #6 are a little busy and broken up for my taste - a criticism or compliment that must apply to both the penciler and inker, these days. Still, I'm more impressed by what I see as the pluses than by the minuses in these panels. You grab good things from Finch, Ebas and Segovia - or perhaps add those things to them? In any event, it seems that you are playing up strengths in the pencils, here, as well as dampening weakness.

Thank you very kindly.
I'm trying to move now to doing more sequential pages, and of course, trying to apply what I've learned thus far into EVERY panel instead of one large pinup.
Very much appreciated.

Well I've got a long way to go, so take this with a grain of salt . . . at this point simplify the panels because the overall effect in the look of a page will be additive. At least strike a balance between busy ones and stark ones on each page. Otherwise, just the way one fragments a composition with too much detail and homogenous lights and darks, he will fragment the comic book page with panels that do the same.
I would throw velum over the pencils and thumbnail alternate designs, make changes to the rendering, like closing or opening forms, etc., until I got the designs to work. Finish pencils are supposed to be just that, but in fact they are at best a good guess. Because they are pencils, they are only preliminary. Until you put real black on white paper, there's no sure way of telling what will result - and if it will be good. Pencils - rough and finished - are lambs to be sacrificed upon the altar of the inkers art. If the inker doesn't get them to stand up right, then the colorist will, and the inks will be corrected right along with the pencils. (May as well nip it in the bud.)

Actually sounds like a great idea; I may grab some paper tomorrow to give that a shot. In fact, I could apply it to a few pieces I think.
That's always been the toughest thing for me; deviating from the original lines. Some guys want you to add your own flare, while others prefer you stick to the lines on the page. I'm learning which are which still...

Yes. I understand. And I think the problem is connecting with the big picture - it's difficult at first to assess composition independent of subject matter - see it mentally without the technique applied. But this is the key to composition. When one can do that, he can then thumbnail any picture or real scene by dividing up the space, coordinating the major shapes and hitting the values directly. That's the main stuff of a picture; the rest is finesse. I don't know if it happened this way with you, but In the world of comic books, too many start at the wrong end, learning to draw by practicing finishing touches before construction and composition it's endemic in the field of inking.

The inking thing for me came after the fact; I learned all the other stuff regarding composition, the elements & principles, but forgot EVERYTHING when I left graphics for medicine.
Now I'm relearning everything all over again.
I am beginning to adjust a little prior to starting a page; trying to understand what I see, imagine where I see blacks going, etc. But again, all a process, and all a new learning curve.
One "belt" at a time!

Yep!! That's one thing that's really hard to get when doing inking digitally, is those fine details.
