WELL ! I felt like making a handful of tutorials after taking some notes for myself and this is the result. I hope somebody out there finds this a little helpful. The next two parts will focus solely on faces, and i think everyone will find them much more interesting. Just wanted to get this one out of the way first.

My gosh. Thank you for this. I'd stopped practicing and had fallen into the habit of drawing all people off of the same form pretty badly for a while. Now I've got a paid project where I need to draw a woman with a heavier body type and your tutorial is exactly the kind of reminder of design principles that I need. Now I have a method for make the character look right. You've saved my skin.

this is really lovely.
i've always found it to be hard to draw certain body types, mostly because i can't find references to the body types i need. i guess that's a hint that maybe i should do a more widely seen body type if i want help on drawing it xD

I stumbled across this tut once, never faved it, went insane because I realised I should've faved it for future ref because of how well this tut was done and how accurate it is! Found it again after much digging, and I am very much glad I did find it again!
