Wherein Toph debunks the Stupid!Arguments against Taang, and Aang protects Momo's innocence. Please, do think of the lemurs!
Inspired by this post at capslock_taang: [link] There are other debunkings there, but these are mine. ...yes, I do kinda lurk a lot. >.> <.<;;
It's a bit sketchy, but hopefully still readable. Hope you enjoy!
EDIT: To clarify Stupid!Argument #2... for the record, I like Zutarians. I am a Zutarian. But as far as Toph is concerned, there's no real comparison between herself and Sugar Queen/Sparky.
Characters belong to Mike and Bryan and Nickelodeon.

It's funny, I'm actually exploring what I feel to be some potential truths that these arguments are based off of...through my own personal experience...
BUT I also agree with the points you make in this, too.
And honestly, I actually use a number of the same arguments when I argue against Zutara. xD
At the end of the day, though, Aang and Toph didn't end up together. That doesn't mean that they physically COULDN'T, though.
And Taang has way more potential for interesting character development and dynamics than Zutara does, in my opinion, so I always prefer seeing people explore Taang in fan works than Zutara, especially since Zutara is a lot more common.
By and large, though, the point you make that I now (being more familiar with the fandom) really get behind is Toph's comment about how the series is about AANG more than anyone else, not f5cking Zuko, kthxbai fangirls. Zuko is a great character, I love him, his character arc is arguably more complete than anyone else. And he's also super angsty and stuff, which I find boring, and furthermore, there's few places left to GO with his character after the series ends because the creators already explored just about everything. Aang and Toph still have a lot of room to grow as characters.

Toph Boring!? I can not see it as Toph the main reason I kept watching Avatar in the first place. If anything everyone else(espeically Katara and Aang but minus Sokka and Iroh) were the ones that were getting boring. The introduction Toph, Zuko going through his redemption process, and the results of these two events were what restore my interest in the series.

man wtf is wrong with people, they dont see how fluffy and cute taang really is, taang may not be so cool than they think but hell its got more fight in em, my most favorite couple of all of atla is taang everyone taang, no one will ever make me change my mind, because i see what could of been and what is gonna be. taang is my country and my homeland, i love it more than my own free will, people are often just being selfish and bastardos. sorry yal xD but yes taang i live taang i strive, i shall keep taang within my life. thanks jinjin for this report here i wanna show you somethin [link] aaaah. . . our home. . . . .havent seen it this strong and this proud xD

i love this so much!!!! i used to only be a kataanger beacuse it got aang and toph out of the way so i wouldnt have to worry about kataang or toko, but this, this is AMAZING!!! totally changed my point of veiw

I personally hate Zutara (no problem with Zutarians, so no one get offended), and I love Taang (although I do also ship Kataang).

Yeah, I've noticed that a lot of people who ship Kataang are usually at least a little open to Taang as a ship. ^^ So yeah, to the haters out there: Taangers are NOT just the sibling subgroup of Zutarians!

Personally, I prefer older!Taang rather than when they're twelve-year-olds, but I still think they're cute. ^^ Toph is very kick-ass in her debunking. And Aang's cry of "Please, think of the lemurs!" knocked me out of my chair laughing. xD Great comic!

I only ship one ATLA pair, and thats Zukaang. I don't Zutarians because they're so vicious and Kataang... well, it's too much like Aang is her little brother... and nobody likes canon xD

Firebending Masters is what everyone thinks of XD It's really noticeable in "The Blue Spirit" and in that ep, but once you get it in your head it's really adorable and you see it everywhere xD <3

I'm partial to Katara/Toph myself.
While the pairing isn't bad at all, it is true that most of the time you see Taang it's as a companion ship to Zutara.

True, but of course there are people who don't ship Zutara and still wholeheartedly ship Taang. In my case, I got into the fandom from curiosity generated by a random (Zutara) fanfic 
What I dislike is some shippers discounting Taang's validity as a ship simply because quite a few Zutarians happen to ship it as well. Taang is not a "Zutarian plot-device", not any more than Tokka is a Kataang one.

So true! Actually I was a taanger way before I came a Zutarian. They do mesh, but you certainly can be one without being the other. And the madly in love stuff is silly, aangs like what, 11? [not counting his past lives]. I highly doubt him and Katara are going to be a forever and ever sort of thing. But maybe thats because I think of katara as more of a sister to him and therefore am determine to label his whole thing for her as a crush.
