Description Common Brushtail Possum (Trichosurus vulpecula)
The common brushtail is one of the most well known and widely interacted with marsupials in Australia. They find home around the majority of the Australian coast and hinterland as well as in several isolated colonies in central NT and WA. They can be found inhabiting rainforests, wet and dry sclerophyll as well as the backyards of suburban homes. It is here the males frequently become the object of ire as they stomp around hissing and barking at one another at almost any hour of the night. Brushtails generally sleep in tree hollows or any nook they can squeeze into. This makes them likely to take up residence in a ceiling cavity where they can become a serious pest. They can live either in solitary or in small groups. In their natural habitat they primarily eat leaves of a variety of trees and shrubs as well as flowers and fruit.

Cheers! We do have pretty amazing wildlife here in Aus. That's why I'm studying biology.

As much as I like possums it's a real shame they are making such a mess of New Zealand. Mince 'em up I say! (as long as they are killed humanely that is)

Yeah, they are an even worse pest in New Zealand where they aren't native. I tried a few different poses out but this one seemed the best. Glad you like it.
