Description
Note: the auras usually are the same color as the eyes, but once you select the color, move the cursor to the upper right corner of the color box.
Note 2: Also, for the sparkly bits, you should click about 3-4 times to create one, instead of just one click.
Okay, this might not work for every single situation, but it's at least a good way for me to remember how to create these comfounded magical auras and make them consistent.
I appologize for the size of this, but I've started this with a bigger focus on humour, rather than trying to sound professional (which I'm not) or like I know what I'm doing (which I usually don't most of the time).

This is a really charming tutorial, well done. Β The interaction with Twilight makes it fun and cute, and it is, of course, informative as well.

Thanks. ^^
Not sure how that'd be useful to you, since you're focusing on an EQG-style right now.

Well it's not particularly useful to me personally, but I think for other's it's quite a clever way of coming across

That's something I've noticed when watching the show: with the exception of Celestia, all the unicorn's/alicorn's magical aura color are the same as their eyes.
The way I see it, it's a connection to the soul: magic, as Twilight said, 'comes from within': a part of a unicorn's very soul. And as the old saying goes: the eyes are windows into the soul. With those in mind, it's fitting to see them match.

I've only noticed the relation between the eyes' and the auras' colors when I saw some vectoring tutorials.
And that soul thing is actually quite cool, to be honest.

Your technique is way better than mine, to be honest.
Mine is probably decent for comics, though.

It's different, and I think yours fits more with people who want something closer to the show's style, which yeah mine doesn't really do that

I honestly don't know if this method works with other softwares, since I only use Photoshop.
