I'm starting to think that Japanese-made games have become very flashy to look at but are no longer fun to play.What the hell happened?!

Anyway, Bayonetta is DMC: Tits.
I dont own the game, but I saw a few playthroughs.
Also, The majority of Japanese made games currently are garbage, but this is pretty good.
Is Bayonetta too DEEP for you?

Although to his credit, Yahtzee actually mentions some of the good points too.

Well, I'm not exactly *married* to DMC4. I played it once through for story's sake, replayed various missions that I thought were fun, and have been dutifully ignoring it ever since.
Probably should've just rented it or something.

I like some older JRPGs. Shining Force 2 and Skies of Arcadia are two of my fave games.
Nice combat systems and genuinely good stories.

I rather like how polar the reactions to this game are, as just reading the comments here shows. Personally I lad on the side that, at least thus far, has enjoyed the game, both the quirky design and the gameplay. QTE's are ALWAYS annoying, even the rewarding ones like GOW kills, and a mechanic that I won't miss whenever game designers finally get over them. While I mostly don't disagree with the separate arguments against the game you've presented here, it STILL comes across to me as an enjoyable gaming experience. And not even in the tissue-needing way.

Go play X-COM Enemy Unknown instead. Where QTEs exist only in the shape of AI related unit reactions to hidden movement phases. Back when games were games, really.

I totally agree, the game was just flashy. I got bored and irritated with the gameplay. Sometimes, it would be too easy, sometimes, it would make me so angry, it wasn't even fun to play anymore. Games are supposed to be fun, I understand making things hard so they are challenging, but when it's so irritating that you are not having fun? Bah D:
Also, Japanese games are really losing their charm, in my opinion. It's been a lot of the same thing.

to be honest a friend had it and after the intro cutscene i kinda just put the controller down and walked away, so is it good to play or should i wait for hollywood to make a movie?

It's still more challenging than any action game the US has come up with...

The actual combat is fun (especially when you start mixing your weapons up) but yes, the flaws do detract from the experience.
And them lollipops are probably some ladies' diet version. (the whole half a sandwich thing) They have to be! @_@
