I have no idea. And technically I never finished the very end of the game so I don't even know if his identity was revealed or not. You first see him up on a walkway though, and once through a window... You know, just walking calmly around a site of alien activity like it's just another day at the office.

Yeah, I don't know why he's called that (It doesen't even say it in the game, just everyone calls him that) You can see him all the way through the game if you look hard enough, I thought he was a brilliant addition to the game.

Brilliant? Maybe... he just annoyed the heck out of me, probably for the same reasons you liked him. I think it's fine that he was unidentified, I guess, but the fact that he was unkillable kinda frustrated me.

once upon a time my brother play this game, and its really large. i dont like much for those worms spider skull sucking. A great game that i will never play.

"Nutsack" 
No, I really enjoyed the game for its length and complexity. But that's also because A) I didn't fight the fish (just dissapear down a shaft before it arrives) and B) stood on a higher edge to camp on the ugly nutsack and its annoying kids with heavy ordnance.
I will never forget the first crab I encountered. I saw it sitting as a bunch of pixels in a hallway (on a 640 x 480 resolution, didn't know any better back then). Critter turns around when it sees me and crawls towards me, making very adorable kawaii purring sounds. I mean, I wasn't even thinking of using that crowbar for anything... until the critter was in my face, causing my heart and stomach to switch places for a second there.
Later I learned to wait for them to leap and just use the crowbar like a tennis racket to send the "incoming projectile" back from where it came from. Cool!

I hold to the belief that the final boss was the unborn giant foetus of a mutant pillsbury dough boy.
Fishing was fun though.

I loved HL2. I recently got HL1, still love it. So
I haven't quite beaten it yet, tho. Just killed the giant nutsack of doom.
I intend to do the wunnerful hacks and get the Portal gun in HL, HL2, HL2:E1, and HL2:E2 (Gotta love the Orange Box

Technically, that was also a very unconventional ending to the game so Sierra stood original even until the end.

You know, the disappointment most folks have with the alien part at the end is probably why HL2 totally stays on Earth the whole time.
I will say that, for the day, HL1 was awesome. Other games that try to look alien (like Prey) still don't come close to HL1.

grenades go into the head. It was annoying as fuck, but it really was that easy... you just have to save a lot of grenades and preferably grenade launcher ammo for your assault rifle.

Personally I always thought the houndeyes were the coolest of the enemies. Too bad they didn't make it to HL2.

I liked grenading and C4ing the ichyosaurs, I was kind of disappointed that they didn't make an appearance in any of the deep water portions of the fan boat levels in HL2. But the portal failure sequence kept me from swimming until I realized that there weren't any ichyosaurs.

Don't forget the fact that the power suit is the only thing keeping Gordon alive after this, he's putty inside of it after all the broken bones and addicted to morphine

All I know about the game is this:
1: there's this mute guy named Morgan Freeman who looks suspiciously like a cross between Adam and Jamie from 'Mythbusters' in a Ghostbuster's uniform.
2: You work at some place whose mission statement seems to be "Build as much weaponry as you can and create more abominations of nature then you can shake a stick at."
3:There's a bunch of giant public lice that eat brains.
So sadly, I don't get too many of the jokes.
