Description
The cover for Little Victory: Chimera #5 underwent a last-minute revision because of a teeny, tiny imperfection. I'm unsure if anyone but I would have spotted it and for the sake of time I very nearly left it as it was, but it irritated me every time I looked at the image, so I corrected it: In the original image, one of Vicky's eyes was higher than the other, and her hair seemed to angle to the right, giving the impression that her entire head was sloped to one side.Related content

Before you mentioned it: could not see it
After you mentioned it: cannot unsee it
It does make her look like her chin is off centerΒ Β
Tiny imperfections in my own art irritate me so I fully understand.

Years later and I still laugh at this every time it pops up on my favorite window.

ROFL
All laughter aside, the original and revised versions don't actually look all that different (to me). Β Just a few minor changes.

Lel would have not noticed the eye unless you told me and the hair even after you mentioned it, was still hard to notice.

I... honestly barely see it. I just interpreted it as her having her head slightly cocked

No one is above this.Β I saw an example of this on an episode of Perry Mason.Β He brings this lady a pencil drawing someone else drew, and she says, "What's this?"
"It's the drawing of the swan," he said, and it was a picture of her.Β Only she looked like she got punched by Picasso.
I laughed a little harder at that then I should have. It really took me by surprise to see a walleyed pencil drawing on a show such as that.

As an artist myself I know how you feel. There are times I can't get something to look right. I have also come across the problem of perception scale (that's what I call it anyway). Its when somethings off and the rest of the sketch is out of wack, and because I drew it, it drives me crazy. Great catch great sketch and what a humorous display of laughing at one self. I do the same.

It's strange how a miniscule alteration can change doubt, however slight, to pure determination

It's only slight . But I guess the artist can see every slight imperfection, right?

I know the feeling, but damn, my eyes need seasoning because at first I needed to stereoscope the images to spot the difference.

Hehe. Nice to see I'm not the only one who gets to feeling that way about their work. I SO sympathize!
(BTW, I think this cover page is the crispest Victory Girl pic I've seen yet)

As artists, we've all been here; true, to everyone else its a minor mishap, but in the artist's own critical mind, we see our respective Vicky Imperfectas, in some form or another.

I'll be blunt, I can't even tell the difference between the two. Yet I know that as the artist, you notice all the little imperfections others gloss over.

Yeah, I am actively trying to see the difference and I cant; I'd have to put in photoshop and line up a bunch of rulers to see it. Maybe I just suck

Cross your eyes and merge the two pictures together, and you'll see the difference. If you don't know how to voluntarily cross your eyes, then sorry, I can't explain it very well.

now that its been a few months and I come back to this I see the difference immediately lol. I still don't think its that bad, the exaggerated sketch is uncalled for xD

You should be happy you can even notice such minor imperfections after working on something for a long time. I'm constantly flipping images horizontally to get my eyes to reset.

Heh, the B&W cartoon reminds me of that Powerpuff Girls episode where a sleazy old friend of Prof. Utonium was making clones of the girls.Β The more he cut back on the Chemical X, the more warped the clones looked.

It took me a long time to figure it out but I see what you mean. Honestly, you could have gotten away with it but I'm the same way. I see mistakes with my work all the time that nobody else seems to notice but it always bugs me. I wouldn't have noticed what you were talking about if you hadn't pointed it out in your description. Lol.
