I forgot I made this a while ago, just after Galarian Weezing was released and forgot to release it. Some of you know, I'm not the biggest fan of Galarian Weezing. Though I get exactly where the design inspirations came from, it felt too silly, top-heavy and over-designed for my taste. Similar to Alolan Dugtrio, it felt more like a playful joke rather than a serious design. Please don't start screaming at me in the comments, its just my personal opinion.
So I decided to make my own redesign/paint over. I made it a Fire/Water type, taking in water and turning it into steam inside its furnace-like body. Unlike their Kanto cousins, they eat coal and wood instead of sludge. This is Koffing and Weezing's original form before being altered by humans (hence no poison symbol). Instead of a sad painful expression, they are happy. They don't have horrible growths, but cheerful babies surrounding it and instead of poison, they emit clouds of hot steam.

I had the same idea for a Weezing variant they they used, but they ruined it, a Weezing that cleans the air instead of polluting it is a perfect pure Flying Type, we really need more of those

I hate the trend of slapping human attributes on older Pokemon and call it a regional form (Golem, Dugtrio, Weezing...)

I dont want to be mean or anything but your typing idea sucks since doesnt fit their species names, so replacing Poison with any type is like replacing the Ponyta line's Fire typing with any type which Gamefreak will never do, since it doesnt make sense at all, so i rather Keep the Poison typing but adding either the Water or Fire typing.

A species name could easily change, keeping the poison typing wouldnβt make sense for this concept as the point is it is about the PokΓ©mon before being altered by humans to become a poison type. Plus, donβt take things so seriously, itβs just a concept

I like a lot Standard Galarian Weezing... but seing your comment and your awesome design I wonder if Game Freak didn't go too far on their design.
However, Yours is probably the best for me. I like their water/fire type and I didn't know how statisfaying it would to see weezing smilling! But it is. <3

I sort of like the Galarian Weezing but I think the "top hat" is just a bit too long.Β

Honestly, it is a really good concept. I still see this as more of an alolan weezing and koffing though, rather than galarian. Mainly due to how grimer and muk (alolan) are also "clean" versions. While I don't like the top hat / factory chimney pipe too much on galarian weezing, it still takes clear inspiration from the smog + industrial revolution.
