Description
Edit: Eyes tutorial, featuring this same character, is up: [link]A sister tutorial to the last Cleaning up Lines Tutorial [link] I really appreciated the feedback that I got, so thank all of you, and I'm glad it was helpful to some.
A lot of people mentioned that it's hard for them to sketch cleanly, so the last tutorial didn't really apply. I have the same problem, and it takes a looooot of extra work on paper (erase, erase, draw, erase) to get pencil lines clean enough to start coloring off of. So.... that's why I often turn to Digital Inking!
Here are some of the ways that I do Digital Inking. I know the "trace directly over the original image" is probably the most common method, but it's hard to do without a tablet and also hard for people with unsteady hands, so that's why I talked a bit about other methods.
As usual, comments/feedback appreciated so I can incorporate them into future projects. Thanks and

Yay! I was just having trouble with this, and then I find this great tutorial. Thank you so much! I use Pixia instead of Photoshop (I could never even dream of affording Photoshop), but this was still really helpful! My lines look better now!

hello, i was wondering, waht are the exact brush settings you used when you used the brush stroke setting in photoshop? i keep trying to duplicate your strokes, but mine are always fuzzy. (the opacity and hardness are set to 100% on my end)

Uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I didn't know that stimulating pressure would make it vary the line depth.
Thanks, I learned a lot. (:

your drawing is soO cute!! ^^
and the tutorial is great!
i've been trying to find a tutorial like this for ever!
it's easy enough for a begginner like me to understand,
but it goes into details when needed!
i just love it!!
specially since i find it very hard to keep my lines
smooth, my lines are always really woobly,
much worse than yours, so i'll make sure
to try the pen!
so thanks again for such an awsome tut!
your drawings are beautiful by the way!

I'm sure this will help, I'm terrible at inking. Also, I don't have a tablet (Hope to get one soon -_-), so this helps a lot in the sense that you can use the mouse.

Ahh, I like this tutorial~!
I did the pen tool before but now whenever I make a path and move it * like a curve* it always makes a shape and fills it in! It makes me very mad and I don't know what's making it do that. I know I have the correct pen tool.

I have a question, for the pen tool thingy, whatever I do the option 'stroke subpath' won't come up (it's grey and I can't click on it) Does anyone knows what to do when something like this occurs? I'm quite sure I'm using the same photoshop (Adobe photoshop CS) or could that be it? Please HELP!!

This tutorial is great! Thanks so much for doing it - it must have taken a lot of work!
Do you think you could tell me what you use for an inking brush? I'm using the pen tool tutorial and my stokes come out really light on the ends - i don't think I have it set right :\
thanks again!
