Description
Heyo! I finished my first art trade and here it is y'all!
This is for Kalfy of his character Dust. I'm absolutely overjoyed that I got to have this experience! Thank you Kalfy for the opportunity to do this art trade. Dust was a fantastic character to work with and I loved being able to experiment with things here and there (like the background). I also loved being able to to do work for others of their characters rather than just my own. Definitely go check out Kalfy's work if you haven't. His AT part with my character Azura is INSANE! I recommend em π
This AT work is a huge step for me on my road to commission work. It also really helps keep my sanity with job searching and moving going on π Thank you and I hope you enjoy it!

Oh wow youβve outdone yourself with this one! Absolutely loving the depth of field effect youβve got going on, it really makes the detailed face pop.Β
It shows that youβve spent quite some time on this drawing, but I think it was worth every second! The attention to detail from the snout, to the eyes, and even the tail in the back is astonishing.
This is an awesome looking dragon, and you should be proud of yourself for what you accomplished!

Thanks so much for this! It's great that various improvements didn't go unnoticed. This was a nice challenge and a good way to improve on various techniques I recently adopted. I also really tried to push the color and vibrancy in this one as far as I could. I still feel I can go further though π

Thx! I'm glad to hear it! π Thought I'd go for some more summer oriented colors. Of course, I also took a lot of inspiration from techniques in photography (depth of field etc).

One thing that really helps is an "Iris blur" filter (in Photoshop). This blurs anything outside selected points on the image (like peripheral vision). Layer masks are also incredibly useful. Keep digging and you'll get the hang of it for sure π

You're most welcome!Β
I really appreciate these nudges on the technical aspect of the work you give out sometimes! the little hint about the "iris blur" really got me curious! I will have to try that on my own works sometimes
Anyway, keep up the great work! ^^

Oh, that would be wonderful
I am certainly interested in that, should you decide to make it a thing! Specially in the way you work with colours ^^
