Wash/South is surprisingly popular. I can see the appeal. That kind of love-hate relationship has a lot of potential.
As for WashCT I'm just not convinced. Maybe it's a onesided affair? Still, I'm holding all declarations until I see further evidence >u<

To ship or not to ship, tis truely the question. well it was for me after watching the episode for a second time. first time around I was just yelling at Wash to take his helmet off xP
Whether fans ship it or not I do kinda hope that the series goes somewhere with it. I love Wash mostly because of all the shit he goes through, it makes him interesting. The only thing that'd make him more interesting would be if he was drawn all sad with a lil' flowe- awwww wait a minute c:

I do too. Even if the relationship never goes anywhere past platonic, their separation would still have a big impact on Wash's life, I think. They clearly fall on opposite sides of that "line" she kept mentioning, and they'll probably have a big falling out over it. Then he'll see just how right she was, and by that time, she'd be gone. Losing a friend on such bad terms, only to realize you were wrong the whole time would definitely change a man.
Wash is tragedy given human form, I swear.

I know, right? The ship-everything-that-move half of my brain finds them absolutely adorable. The it-only counts-if-its-canon half can't come to terms with it yet. Connie is still a derivative of Connecticut. You'd think if they were really close they'd know each others real names. Like the way York knew Tex as Allison.

Heh, same here ^.^. And yes, Connie is still a shorthand of Connectitcut, but...I dunno, the conversation sounded like Wash was the only person who called her that to me. And you're probably right about them not being romantically close - it is probably very borderline. Wash definitely cares for C.T, that's for sure. The hand on her shoulder, delicate nickname, sad gaze at her helmet...all the signs are there...
Yeah. The crazy appeal of South and Wash. I'm actually writing a South/Wash story now, Traitor's Truths. It is quite dark at first, and may I say rather unintentionally. But then I liked it, so yeah XD

Yeah. I'd concur with them being close, but maybe not an item. Onesided, maybe? And I bet Freelancer has a pretty strict "no office romance" policy. Too many guns involved. Still, it's so cute to see Wash actually LIKE someone for once. Even if it isn't LIKE LIKE someone.

Yeah. One sided as in only Wash has feelings, perhaps. And I think you are right about the no romance thing. Or rather, romance is allowed, if you can keep it quiet... That's the kind of rule I'm following in my fanfic, anyway XD
