great little post. shows you dont need lots of fancy gear. Also try unfolding a large newspaper for more even fill in.

You might try sliding it into a thin white pillow case or shine it through something else translucent. It will diffuse and soften the light, especially for people portraits. Otherwise, it is an excellent idea.
