very nice, the detail and colouring of the hair is beautiful. Do you find this easier to work with then oils?
It might work our money and time wise to have an equal focus on both? I mean you get a similar look, to an extent, and i assume it would be cheaper and probably faster?
This one comes across quiet soft and personal. I love the paintings but sometimes I dont really get that as much of a feel for the subject as I am with this. Im usually just in love with the strong colours and smoothness.
I guess what I'm trying to say is its nice to get a different feel from your work while you still get to keep your style. Ill stop rambling :/
Anyways, I think its awesome and want to see more more more of whatever medium you feel like working with. But I definatly think this one is a standout.

It was hardly a ramble, as it turns out I've been thinking exactly the same thing, the only real hold up is resolving a cost effective way to frame the pastels, since if you spray them the colours die, they need to go behind glass ASAP, where as oils can be sold unframed, and actaully look good for it.
You are not the only person who thinks the pastels are starting to become as good or better then the oils, is deffinatly cheaper, and easier, and while it they are working, I really have only just started using pastel, so there are still HEAPS of easy gains to be made in terms of technique and such. Not to mention working them on a bigger scale, which will give me a chance to really inhance the details.
I'm impressed you get as much out of them as you seem to from the photos on the web, they really look crap compared to the originals, but i guess such is the way of it online.

p.s. the background colour was the PERFECT choice to bring out the colour of her eyes. you have a great eye for details like that.

I'm tired/drained currently, so I will wait till I perk up a bit, but at this stage I think I will make a few minor changes here and there, ever so slight touches to the eye mouth and cheek...maybe I just don't like it cause I'm tired/drained however...will get back you on that.
