Description
FOREARM/HAND DETAIL || INNER ARM & SHOULDER DETAILthis is the automail I made for ~bloodyjackfaber -- the outside part of the arm, and the hand -- on the first day of Anime Iowa.
darn flash...making it look shinier than it is!
ah, well. :/ it's "steel," of course it'll glint in the light! ;D
the automail is made from a long glove sewn onto a long-sleeved t-shirt around the elbow -- and opposite sleeve of the t-shirt is cut off to allow for the Ed Elric tank top look -- one arm (shoulder to finger) from flesh, another from steel.
the painting of the sleeve-glove took..erm..quite a while, relatively speaking.
I spent about 7 hours on it; a good deal of those being in the wee hours of the morning on the day before AI. x.x
granted, I could've saved myself a few hours by not doing it so late at night-morning and by not making as many mistakes...but such is life. ;D
automail was designed and originated by Hiromu Arakawa...read her manga and spread the FMA love!

This is really good, especially a new way of making something well detailed and easy to move in.

Wow, awesome job with the painting on this! I'm impressed all this could be done to a glove.
Oh man, I know all too well of the crunch time the night before a con. Fun times....

Yeah, funny things can happen when you're pressed for time and resources... it kinda forces you to get creative. xD

WOW! That's really creative; I would have never have thought to make Ed's automail from a shirt

in all honesty, it was ~bloodyjackfaber 's idea. I'm just the one that got to paint it.
but thank you kindly! I appreciate hearing it. :]

Whoaaa... This is made from a shirt? What material was the shirt? With a little bit of flash, it looks quite matallic~ ^^ You did a really nice job on creating shadows and such.

Well, from a glove and a shirt... the shirt was plain ol' cotton, but I think the gloves was nylon, question mark? O.o...
Thanks very much! ^^ I wasn't fond of the flash, actually, because it covered up much of the detail work [ xP ], but I guess that's equivalent exchange for getting the metallic sheen, eh? xD
