Commission piece for cropp , with gratitude for letting me show the piece off. Very happy with this one, all the more so after getting the hang of some of my new brushes.Godzilla wins....Baragonality!

Oh believe me, my biggest miff about GMK was giving old Barry the shaft and not allowing him to take part in the final fight. Lots of fans almost worship GMK as such a milestone of the series but it was bad little decisions like that that honestly put it in a pretty average spot for me. Baragon is aces in my book and definitely deserves more love.

And I'll likely never forgive Toho for pushing his name out of the credits. I swear if it's not their "big three" of Goji, Ghidorah and Mothra it's like they're too scared to talk about them. HUMBUG! Baragon RULES, foos!

Yeah they say angurius and varan weren't well known enough and were cut, simple fact. The movie woulda MADE THEM WELL KNOWN! Mothra vs. Godzilla made her well known! She starred in multiple godzilla films afterwards! So did many other. Not so well known monsters like gorgosaurus! U know what I mean?

Indeed, that's the kind of backwards logic they engaged in for too long that made the Millennium series less than satisfying for me overall, with some good points of course. Needless to say I hope Legendary Godzilla 2 at least tries to introduce one new monster, or it'll just be falling into the same old same old with its kaiju cast

I personally preferred the Heisei and millennium versions than Showa series I liked his design Better and the films weren't as silly

I have stated in the past that GMK isn't my favorite film, but I do think Baragon is still my favorite of the four.

P.S. in your opinion, do you think Baragon should be boosted in size to be a better match for Godzilla? As other kaiju have in the past? Like King Kong?

I've often wished that some of the monsters were more varied in size to be honest, since the limitations of suit acting tend to make most of them about the same proportions, but in Baragon's case it actually would be nice to see him in a fairer match, because we all know if he hadn't been such a little shrimp in GMK it really would have made the fight a lot more intense. That's the only real problem with the scene, he's so dinky that you just know there's no chance for him to come out on top even if we were pretending Godzilla wasn't destined to win every fight.

Yeah, I'm cool with kaiju coming in different shapes and sizes, but its hard to take a fight to the death between two kaiju seriously when its Godzilla vs a creature significantly smaller than himself, it was a great fight mind you, seriously impressive work conveying their difference in size & awesome suit acting, but, ya KNEW Baragon was gonna lose (I love the Big G mind you, but I don't mind seeing him work for the win either lol)
I dunno, maybe if they had allowed him to keep his flame breath attack & used that in conjunction with his burrowing & leaping abilities then Baragon could have played hit & run with Godzilla, but without backup from another Yamato kaiju he was otherwise doomed to lose (Baragon & Mothra tag teaming Godzilla could have been an interesting duo), the characters made no secret of that fact (that bugged me, at least PRETEND he has a fighting chance ya know? You don't know what Baragon can or can't do yet, being magic & all, so don't give his odds away! lol).
Ironically, I honestly do think a Godzilla vs Baragon scenario COULD be really enjoyable to watch if Baragon were made close to size with Godzilla & given his flame breath back, a Kaiju of the land vs a Kaiju of the sea, each with armed with powerful beam weaponry & having very distinct designs from one another despite their similarities...It could actually make for a somewhat poetic & epic bout (given the Legendary era's origins for these monsters, ya could easily reimagine Baragon as a creature with similar origins & abilities to Godzilla, like a distant related species or rival predator etc). It could just be me though, but honestly I think Baragon could make for a fun rival for Godzilla in future stories if super sized & powered up appropriately (someone else to fight besides Mothra & Ghidorah who wouldn't necessarily require a complicated origin story). Sorry if I'm rambling lol

EPIC! This picture is very cool! The GMK Gojia is my favirote of all the others, and he looks utterly intimidating in this!

Awesome!! This piece came out really, really great! I love GMK Godzilla! He's my close 2nd favorite suit design! I just love how huge, strong, and dinosaurian he looks! Other than Legendary Godzilla, he's one of the strongest looking Godzilla's ever. Really awesome job drawing this dude! It looks really amazing!
