Honestly, the closer we get to the debut of Godzilla: Monster Planet (or Planet of the Monsters, whatever the official English title is going to end up being), the more I'm falling in love with this look, and the concept of a "Bio-Goji". The jury of course is still out on whether or not the movie itself is going to be any good, but honestly my overall feelings about the design of this version of the character are a lot stronger in the positive than I ever was about the freaky-eyed look of the Tooth-Monster, aka Shin Godzilla. And no I don't hate Shin Godzilla at all, overall the look still works very well and it's a menacing, scary Godzilla, but if I had to pick preferences and which one I just like the look of more so far I have to go with Anime Goji. Well the essence of the new movie is the old man telling humanity to "stay off his lawn", aka the Earth, so that's appropriate.

Excellent work on this design man, even if I still HATE the "Plantzilla" concept....Makes me want to see it painted orange like a Jack'O'Lantern for Halloween XD
P.S. still gonna watch the anime on Netflix when it premieres, maybe the story will be better than Goji's unfortunate new origin (I honestly don't know why changing him from an ancient atomic reptile to a triffid is necessary but I'll still give the actual show a chance).

The think the Japanese are going through a super high "experimental" phase right now, wanting to put their own mark on the brand. I like experimentation most of the time, but yeah time will tell if this one holds up or if it really has any bearing on the action of the plot, I have a feeling it won't end up mattering much once the action starts rolling, but thanks

I think before we make a verdict we should watch the anime first, still I like the design.

That's what I said in the description, the anime may or may not be anything special, but there's plenty of good Godzilla films where I haven't liked the design of the suit, like Shin or Tokyo SOS, and bad Godzilla movies where I've absolutely loved the suit, so it goes both ways.

Just received an alert yesterday that my Bandai figure of this Godzilla shipped! Hype! Anyway, yea, this design has 'grown on me' (pun not intended at first thought, but gladly ran with it). I haven't drew this design since that Cha Chia Godzilla art I made, but I still remember this design being SUPER FUN to draw, unlike other Godzilla designs, especially Shin Godzilla, which is plain tedious and frustrating to draw every detail.
I really need to get to that full body sketch, I really want to try it soon. Fantastic art by the way!

My figure just shipped, too XD I'm excited. But I hear what you mean, Shin is chock full of painstaking details, which while they make him stand out in a lot of ways are a pain on the wrist. This guy is a little "simpler" but he's still distinct. I look forward to you sharing any new creations, we're getting closer to release so I expect the fanart to start exploding soon.
