I like seeing how people do their artwork, this is cool.
How long does it usually take you to complete a piece?

Hm, I got a question. Does SAI have some sort of option where you can make the background transparent? SAI always start with a white background, right?

unfortunately i dont think SAI can manage that. Not in my knowledge of it anyway. ^^ ;

Thanks! I always love to see how people work. Sometimes the story behind the art is just as interesting as the art itself.

nice gneral guide, I don't know if I'll ever rid myself of the curse of shaky hands... to do the long stroke linework, so I stick with vectors

Hehe... we seem to colour similarly. I thought I was the only one who used Magic Wand+ Expand. ^-^

Yes. I was actually looking at your works yesterday and I was like "I wish you had some sort of tutorial or an insight process on how you make your art. I am most interested" and thus, this must be fate.

This was very helpful. I have always been annoyed with adding the base color to my lineart since I always had the white areas at the outside edges of my wand area. Now I don't have that problem.
THNX!!

For the lineart you said you used a "quick stroke" I am not aware what that is could you please expalain what it is and how to do it?
I really like your art and if there is an easier way to do the line art I'm all for it! My lineart is always messy, I have weak upperbody stability (from illnesses when i was little) makes art a hard thing to do but I'M NOT GOING TO LET THAT STOP ME >
Thanks~

how should i explain this xD
imagine drawing a straight line with a flick of your hand, as opposed to drawing that line slowly and trying to stabilize it as you go along. Doing the quick stroke means that you wont get the jagged edges and thus makes your lines smooth.
LET NOTHING STOP ART!

Great and very clear ^^
We work in a similar fashion, for what I see.
The magic wand/expantion is a good technique! I always use handmade masks for my layers, but I'll try your method next time~! ò/u/Ó
Thanx for sharing ^^ !!

How do you add shading with the character (the skin and clothes)? I know how to use photoshop (since I took a class on it last year) but I don't know how you can add shading.

choose a darker color than the one used for the base color, then just paint on that particular layer ^^
