Description
You asked for it! it's a huge file, but this takes you through the main development stages of the Moff sculpt: [link]While working, I threw a random MiniDisk in the player to keep me going, and it turned out to be "Sleeping with Ghosts" by Placebo, with a song called "plasticine" and "The Bitter End" mentions the second of May - which is when I did most of the sculpting! Freaked me right out! (awesome album tho!)
9 hours of sculpting, & about another 4 hours to paint and "finish off"
Cheers for checking, and cheers Jen, for inventing the 'lil guy in the first place!

as it says in the step-by-step, it's just plasterscene.

first time i heard of it, and google results seems negative.
both plasterscene and plaster scene
the most relevant answer was.. that sort of... gypsum plaster? (sorry, but my English is limited, looked up for plaster)
any good link to this plasterscene thing is very much appreciated.

Hey, sorry about that.. it's my terrible spelling that's to blame, it's actually spelt plasticine - [link]
but in all honest although it's really cheap over here it's not the best for sculpting.. - it's meant more as a kids toy, and comes in many colours and doesn't "set" (you can't fire it to make it go hard) .. the only reason I could use it for this small project was because I sealed the model with car-primer (spray paint) to protect it a little before painting it... but it wouldn't stand a good deal of handling. - If you're looking for something a little more durable then you might want to look up super-sculpey; [link] it's much easier to model with and you can "cook" it in a home oven to make it go hard and tough.
hope this helps.

yes it does, thanks.
anyway, i don't think either play-doh or plasticine should be painted. xD

play dough certainly not... but plasticine is fine if you know how to do it right.. - it's what we used to make maquettes in college because it's cheaper than sculpy - the key is to use a thick base coat of car-body primer (spray paint) and then use plastic-based paints, like acrylic. - We've done it plenty of times and it works ok.

I know.. that was a short-lived format, wasn't it? lol ... I was brought the system as a birthday present yeaaars ago, and MDs very fast went out of fashion, but I still use it when I'm not on my PC cos my CD player doesn't work anymore -_-

I had loads of the things. Then they all got lifted while I was at uni, along with my deck and player.
I got a brand new deck and player from the insurance, but they've sat on my shelves virtually unused for years because I couldn't be bothered to record all my discs again. So sad.
Nice sculpture btw. :¬]

That's a beautiful thing. Really enjoyed seeing the process too. I bet you slept well afterwards. And nice, music often freaks me like that. Great album! love the track centrefolds, though it's rather sad.
I quite enjoy the bald Moff actually.
Everything I say at the moment seems to have a vague air of innuendo. It's really not intentional.

hehee... never pegged moff as a blonde myself... it was kinda cool and also weird to see ^-^
Yeah, I had to record the progress for 2 reasons a) to keep a record for myself and for anyone else who might be interested but also b) as proof I tried in case I messed anything up and for whatever reason couldn't give it to you! x.X
