It had warmed up pretty well, so I didn't have long to wait for each drop!

I would think that could get as tricky as trying to capture lightning!Β

Thank you! Β Β
I guess that for you, living in Russia, icicles are probably very ordinary, even a nuisance.Β Here in New Mexico (USA) they are kind of rare, so they become magical and fascinating.Β Also, I guess, they mean that snow has fallen, and for us, that is very important, since ANY kind of water is precious.Β So when I see an icicle, it is like a gentle reminder that, when Spring comes, there wont be as many wild fires, and maybe my apricot trees will produce lots of fruit so that I will have a cupboard full of jars of apricot jam for the rest of the year.Β Β So...I went from pesky icicles in Russia to apricot jam in New Mexico...that's quite a journey!

Haha, you described it well, I understand you well Β Β
We love winter quite a lot, especially if itβs a countryside and a village!!
In cities the winter looks like slush, the city authorities are in a hurry to clear the snow, they use bad and cheap means, so in spring there is very bad water (

Here in New Mexico we use what we call Solar Powered Snow Removal: we wait for the sun to melt it off.Β Last year it was cold and windy, but there was very little snow.Β I hope we get more snow this year and lots of icicles!

I wish you a lot of snow and icicles, so much that it will be remembered for a long time!!
We also hope for snowfalls, in our plans with daughter to build an army of snowmen!Β Β

Β That sounds like a lot of fun!Β Have you guys ever tried building a snow castle?Β I have no idea how to do that: the snow melts quickly here so I have not even tried...an hour later, my castle of dreams would be a puddle of water.

Yes, we have no problems with this, you just need time and desire and the rest of the children do not dismantle the fortress during the fight-games, haha, the boys especially love to disassemble everything!!Our snowmen live a little if other children play with them )))

That sounds like fun!
Here is a story for your garden: Once upon a time there was a little girl who loved to build snow people.Β She would give them names and endow them with personalities and life stories.Β Alas, there were some little boys who lived nearby, who loved to have snowball wars, and in the excitement her snow people would become casualties.Β She would trudge sadly home where her mother would make her a big cup of hot chocolate and have her sit by the stove to get warm.Β Β
This went on for a while until finally the Queen of Winter took notice and decided to do something.Β The Queen waited for the little girl to build her snow people, and then she cast a spell on them...a quiet, secret spell that did not alter how the snow people looked at first.Β But when the neighbor boys came to have their snowball wars, suddenly the snow people came alive and pelted the boys with barrages of snowballs until they wisely took flight.
After that, the boys left the little girl and her snow people in peace.
The story needs work, of course....but I will leave that to you and your family.
