Description some ideas for what the alien ecosystem in the world might look like.

a physical trait that many of these alien creatures share is the fact that what we would normally expect to be the heads of these creatures if they were from earth, is in fact a form of highly developed appendage similar to a mandible while its eyes and central nervous system still sits at what we might expect to be the shoulders/torso.

I specifically did this so that these creatures feel like nothing that would have evolved on Earth.

Although similarities in body structures (wings, limbs) and food chain hierarchy (large herbivore, sleek carnivore, etc) may arise from evolving in a planet with similar conditions to earth, they still branched from an entirely different early ancestor from the ones that many of Earth's animals branched out from.

since I had about four weeks worth of time budget working on this project I had to prioritize quantity over the finish, most of the environment and creature concepts are rendered just enough to get the idea across so I can quickly move on to other biomes and ecosystems

This is beautiful! Why do the creatures tend to be so large, though?

Mostly because making them too small might make it harder for players in the game to spot things or tell the difference, the blue and green flying creature is as small as I can make it before it becomes too muddled in the screen

This is really awesome. Great chaotic scene.

Are these from the same setting as the giant panguins?

Thanks!

No that one is my own world building thing, very much evolved from earth creatures.

Nice. I hope to see more of the environment works from this one, really chaotic.

Yeah.. I've had a lot of people ask me if I'm working on the towers game..

I even tried to make it so that the creatures and biomes here don't feel as similar as towers, making them more alien. Though if there's one game this gets compared to, towers is a pretty great one, haha

I think it's an awesome comparison. Such cool worldbuilding excercises need to be done more, thanks for always posting such cool and unique art!

Hey, have you seen the "Alien Planet: Darwin IV" documentary? You can find it on YouTube if you haven't. Your creatures remind me of some of the supposed aliens that live on the fictional planet Darwin IV, it might provide some inspiration for the different climates your creatures might live in, how they behave and interact with each other and their environment. I recommend watching it if you haven't already, I think you will find it quite interesting.
