Work in progress of my Doom and Dain picture.Panels: Colour->Shading->Detail
I tried out the Lief and Barda one first but I just can't find the right skintones for them, so I gave Doom and Dain a go instead.
I thought he was too dark in the first panel (he looks more like Ranesh than Doom) so when I shaded him I lightened his skin bit.
I don't know if the books ever mention Doom's eye colour so I had to make it up. I chose a green because... well... you know why...

He was always the one I wouldn't be suprised about if he ended up evil. I was a very suspicious reader as a child.

I always thought he was too suspicious to be evil. I mean, the evil ones are always the ones you don't suspect.

I'm afraid I had yet to realise that. After the first series I was pretty good at figuring out who the bad people were.
Though I think I suspected Barda at one point during the last book... oops.
I was so dissapointed when Dain turned out to be an ol. I liked Dain.

I liked Dain too, I still do actually. When I read that paragraph where Lief confronts him for the first time I was so shocked I had to stop and come back to it later.

I don't know. I just did, I can hardly remember actually thinking at all about how it might end - I was just reading like there was no tomorrow.
I like him as a character still, but not his personality. The personality that he was pretending to have on the other hand, that Dain I'd be friends with.

I have a feeling Rodda was trying to make us suspect Doom in that last book, even Jasmine fell for it. But if she was trying to make us suspect Doom you just know he's not going to be the villain.
And yes, I liked Dain better before he revealed himself.

My exuse is that I was a child, ignorant of the ways of sublety and plot.
I'm pretty sure it was these books that first taught me stuff like that. At least I saw Prandine coming from a mile away in the very first book.

One of favourite Deltora moments is Sharn pushing Prandine out of that window... Must be the feminist in me again...

I have discovered the real reason why Lief isn't friends with his Del friends anymore.
His friends all noticed his mum was a milf and it made Lief uncomfortable. Then we she turned out to be Queen Sharn they all freaked. So they just mutually decided it was too awkward.

Great work so far. It's a WIP, yet the details are already impeccable. Fear not! You were correct! Doom does indeed have green eyes. Must be a family trait.

Thanks! Doom being my favourite, I really wanted to do him justice. I was pretty excited drawing him for the first time.
