Chapter 1 - A New Beginning

For several years, Envy, an orphaned darkrune ender dragon, has lived with a villager named Ivan. She was thought to be the only darkrune ender dragon left. As Envy grew, Ivan helped Envy manage her abilities. Throughout the last several years, there has been a period of Civil War between two races: the Villagers and the Illagers. Several villages around the Overworld have been attacked by these raiders. Only one village still stands to this day: Arkala. The people of Arkala have been able to always fend off the illagers, successfully. Today however, was a beautiful day. Envy just finished her magic lessons with Ivan for the day and decided to take a walk around the village. She tried talking to the nearby villagers as they walked by, but they all just ignored her. A little upset, Envy carried on. Envy suddenly came across a bunch of monster girls being bullied by three teenage villagers. There were two monster girls. One was a creeper, and one was a skeleton. One of the teens was holding both of the skeleton’s arms, teasing her.

“Stop!” said the skeleton. “Give me my arms back!”

“What’s the matter, sweetheart?” said the teen, “You got a bone to pick with me? I guess I’ll have to make these into bone meal then.” She then kicked him in the crotch leaving him lying in pain and then his friends came and tore her apart. The creeper girl tried to stop them, but one of them was holding a cat to scare her.

“Hey, leave them alone!” Envy shouted.

“Or what?” said the teenager. “What are you gonna do? Punch me, you scalie? Hahahaha!”

"Yeah, go crazy!" said another teen, "Go stupid!"

“No, worse.” Envy answered. She then shot darkrune fireballs around them. The teens then ran away in fear.

“You’re crazy!” one of the teens shouted. The leader was on the ground in fear.

"P…please don't hurt me!" The teen pleaded.

"Then don't ever call me a scalie again. Understand?" Envy said in a menacing voice. The teen then ran, crying. Envy turned around to the monster girls.

“You two ok?” She asked.

“Yeah.” the creeper girl answered. “Thanks.”

“No problem.” Envy replied back.

“Hey, can you please help put me back together?” asked the skeleton.

“Sure.” Envy answered. A few moments later, the monster girls introduced themselves.

“I’m Bonnie,” the skeleton said, “and this is Siss.”

“I’m Envy.” Envy said.

“That was so cool what you did back there.” Siss said.

“Thank you.” Envy said. Just then, a female enderman appeared out of nowhere.

“Hey guys, are you ok?” the enderman said, “I heard you screaming and-” She then noticed Envy. There was an awkward silence for a moment. Envy put Bonnie’s arm back in its socket.

“Hi, I’m Envy. Nice to meet you.” Envy said, holding out her hand.

“Sombra.” the enderman said, shaking Envy’s hand.

“Sombra!” Siss suddenly shouted, “This dragon saved us from those bullies!”

“And helped put me back together.” Bonnie said after.

“Really?” Sombra said.

“It’s true.” Envy said. Sombra then looked at Envy as if there was something strange about her.

“Oh my God! You’re a darkrune ender dragon!” Sombra said, noticing the runes glowing on Envy’s body. “I thought they were extinct!”

“Apparently not.” Envy said “I’m actually considered the last of my kind.”

“You’re kidding!” Sombra said.

“No I’m not.” Envy said. “By the way, you wanna become friends?”

“Sure.” Sombra answered.

“Sweet!” Envy responded. “You wanna come to my house?” Envy asked.

“Sure. I mean we got nothing better to do.” Sombra answered.

“Alright, come with me.” Envy said as she was taking them to where her and Ivan live. Later that night, the group arrived at Ivan’s house.

"Envy! You're finally back!" Ivan said.

"Hey, Ivan." Envy said. He then noticed her new friends behind her.

"Who are your new friends?" Ivan asked.

"Ivan, this is Siss, Bonnie, and Sombra." Envy answered.

"Hello." Siss said.

"A group of bullies were picking on them." Envy explained.

"Yeah, one of them stole my arms!" Bonnie said.

“What did you do, Envy?” Ivan asked, concerned.

“I used my abilities to scare them away. Don’t worry, I didn’t hurt any of them.” Envy said.

“You should’ve seen her, Mr. Ivan!” Siss said. “She was amazing!”

“You have done well, Envy.” Ivan said. “I may have trained you well.” From that point on, they chatted all night. They talked about all sorts of stories and skills they had. Envy had finally made new friends.
