Description
One of the most excellent movie monster designs, and the practical effects look impressive to this day!Related content

The most badass monster ever from a sci-fi movie. Nice drawing.
Have you ever drawn the alien-human hybrid "newborn" from Alien: Resurrection?

No, but I might. In fac I don't like this movie at all but the Newborn was extremely powerful design.

Didn't you like it? Damn what's wrong with you?
I like all four original Alien movies nearly equally, although the second is slightly superior to the others. I'm waiting for the upcoming prequels, following Prometheus, to see if they will be worth it (Prometheus is ok but it left too many questions unanswered).
Of course I don't even take the Alien vs Predator movies seriously. They're just a bag of shit.
Anyways the Newborn is a very nice concept introduced in the franchise, in my opinion.

I just believe it was completely unnecessary. both 2 and 3 acted as perfect closings of Alien story (like happy and bad end) Ididn't like prometheus much either like you say many questions were unanswered and way to many things happened for no apparent reason only because of script. What I also didn't like that Engineers suck badly compared to original Giger's design of alien pilot.

I have a different point of view. Resurrection to me is like "a second chance" for Ripley, even though she is actually a hybrid clone with a few memories from the original Ripley. Anyways, in the end, the fact that she returned to Earth after 257 years gives a feeling of "it's finally over".
I also like the fact that it was set too far away in the future, and the mercenaries. Call is also used as an example of "someone too humane to be a human being" (similarly to when Sarah Connor sees John playing with the terminator in T2). I like androids with genuine human feelings.
But I understand your point of view also.
As for Prometheus, I liked the Engineers' look EVEN THOUGH I would prefer that they looked physically like Giger's design, and that that elephant-like head were their true heads instead of a helmet. But as for the prequels themselves, I really believe that the next movies will be better than Prometheus.

Thanks for explaining now I have a better understanding why some people enjoy this movie more than I did.
One more reason why i resent Prometheus is that, from what I heard, it was so similar to Lovecraft's At The Mountains of Madness by del Toro that it had the second movie put on hold.Β

One more reason why i resent Prometheus is that, from what I heard, it was so similar to Lovecraft's At The Mountains of Madness by del Toro that it had the second movie put on hold.To be completely fair, any comparison with Prometheus is more of an insult to del Toro's hypothetical Mountains Of Madness adaptation than a compliment to Prometheus. The proposed script completely butchered Lovecraft's story. I'm reminded of how we've never gotten a proper adaptation of War Of The Worlds which actually follows the book exactly, or at the very least keeps the Victorian England time period setting rather than trying to modernize it. Or an actually faithful, big-budget adaptation of Call Of Cthulhu.

I don't think that would be possible, at least not anytime soon. Too risky to put a good budget to it. People would say stuff like "This is shit we've got a kaiju that doesn;t even fight anything just goes down immediately, how lame". Besides lots of value that Lovecraft's tales have lies in the atmosphere and descriptions. Not in action wich plays a secondary role. This wouldn't work well with a movie. Β
