Yeah this is my tutorial~ I hope you understand. I use the same method for my thicker line drawings aswell, and I forget to use air brush a lot lol.theres a typo. LMAO.
Im so bad at tutorials, if anyone is completely new to this, then youll get confused lmao.

uuh......how do u get the picture to NOT have a background :I (as u can see i am new to Photoshop

well.. when you export from sai it wont have a background unless you draw it. save as a .png to get it.
If youre not using sai first then, before you start make a layer above background (layer 1) draw on that and dont touch backgound. when youre done just delete 'background' to see the checker bg... then save as .png as usual. The ta da!<3 Transparent.

So what for is the gausian blurr? It's the ony thing that I didn't understand...

It makes the whole image look softer.
You can also for example duplicate only the lineart layer and use Gaussian blur on it. Also gives nice, soft effect.
