This is an old tutorial, therefore they are numorous typo and errors found inside it. Also, the shading is off on the cat and I could have explained things better. But you may still learn a thing or two about it.

I lot of people has been asking me,how do I draw on Open Canvas?How do I shade?How do I color?And how can I draw on Open Canvas.Well,Ive got good news for you.Here is a tutorial that I made so first time Open Canvas artists to help you understand and make beautiful pictures on Open Canvas :3
If you have questions on this tutorial and just dont understand it,please notify me and I can explain it to you better.
This is my first tutorial so dont critisize me if its not good.Im going to make another Tutorial for making Professional Open Canvas soon.Also on Line-art,shading,coloring. etc

It doesn't? Then you must have the earlier version of OC. The airbrush tool comes around version 3 if Im not mistaking.

Yes x3 You can actually download it and if you dont want to purchase it when the trial ends, just do what some people do. When the OC trial is over, you can still draw on it but you cannot save. Just draw and when your done, copy the screen. Alot of people I know told me they did this.

I have a question, how do you color in only one particular part? I can't stay in the lines without the wand thing and I can't color all of the parts with it. Help please??

Dont use the wand or it will leave white spots. Ok, you need to close up to the area you want to color, vert very close and select a pen tool thats not too big. Its easy to stay in the lines. Just color by the lines first, then fill in.

Oh no! That used to happen to me all the time ;___; Maybe you had a trial version and it expired? Ah, Im so sorry to hear that..-nudge- If your trial did end, you can still draw and when your done, just copy the screen. People said to me that you could do that -winkwinknudgenudge-

its real good manga shop you can get
lots of wicked stuff, from manga, copic markers every thing you could want. Plus manga nibs and holders these are the pens that pro manga artsist use
I have yet to get those as I spent my boodle on the tablet

Well, open canvas 3.05e is'nt free but a trial. You can actually still use it whent the style is over and just copy the screen like other people do.

do you use a mouse for all of that? or a tablet? 'cos I have a tablet, but it doesnt work... TT_TT

I would recommended a tablet since it would be much easier to outline and such. But I draw all my pictures my mouse ^^

what layer is it for shines? it says to use a multiple for shading, but not what for shines? hmm...

For shine, you use a layer called "Dodge" or "Overlay" When you use this layer, it automatically makes your current color a lighter one so you can shine away.
