OK, This isn't a tutorial on how to draw, it's basically explaining the layers on GIMP. So, this is a trade and I just took a screen shot every once in a while.
Several people asked how to make thing just on GIMP. So, here it is. 
This isn't a tutorial on how to draw THIS picture. It's just for the layers. Please, do not draw the same pose and everything, try to be original.

yeah, i got it now :] I just downloaded it yesterday... im still trying to figure some stuff out... and i think it was ur lineart that i was using... i was just trying to figure it out and mess around with it a little. but yeah. And i finally gave up bc i have a mouse pad instead of a regular mouse... so im lookin for an extra mouse right now

I'm a bit confused: When i use the fill in tool after i out line the horse with the color, the muscle lines go away. How did you keep them? Because it's a pain the a** to draw them, color the horse, and re-draw them on the color layer.

Well, to open something, first go to file then open. If it's in your pictures and you have a bunch of pictures, right click on what you want to draw over and click edit with GIMP. I'm sorry I don't follow you the rest

I never thought to do the outline with color first. That's a really good idea, and it will save a lot of time!

i used circles for my traditional art, and after i didn't need them, stopped. But i've never used it for digital stuff.
