Description
The second image in my women and surrealism series. This image represents true fear of unwanted pregnancy. In this image the silhouette of a pregnant women becomes the horizon from which a desperate man leaps into a fiery bush. Inside the woman’s stomach is a very young human embryo that seems almost lizard like and alien. I have made this monstrous little creature as large an unborn child would be not long before birth thus giving the impression that this is what the baby will look like when its born, hideous and underdeveloped. This represents a subconscious fear of having a deformed and defective child. There is hope though in this image. Rising above the ‘horizon’ is a newborn celestial sun in all its magnificence, representing the birth of a newborn son.Related content

I don't know if I should be disturbed or in some *tiny*, *tiny* way offended. One thing I do know, is that this art piece makes me think on several different levels. You put alot of thought and effort into this series and this one most especially (IMHO) and I can appreciate that. Anything that engages the brain, whether happy, disturbing or thought-provoking is something to be appreciated. As a mother of two, I guess that is what conjures up the disturbed emotions toward this piece. But, nonetheless, I would encourage you to continue to put out thought provoking pieces because you put alot of thought and effort into them.
