This was an older how-to tutorial so I decided to update it with a fresh look and fresh screen captures! So it seems like deviants get a little confused on how to submit artwork to AnthroCommunity or groups in general. Here is a tutorial to help!

My members can't submit to my group. Why?
Make sure you have submissions ENABLED. To check this do the following:
1. Group
2. Admin area
3. Manage members
4. MembersΒ on gallery, members: Make sure you have the drop down selected to either automatically approved or are subject to vote.. ( choose how many votes and how many entries someone can submit in a given time ( day / month / year ).
Do I need to be a group member to submit to a group?
Depends! Look to see if your group accepts open submissions or if you have to be a member to submit to their group. If you try to submit to their group and aren't able and you are not JOINED in that group, then that indicates they don't have open submissions.
How do I change the group submission limitations?
Go to group -> admin area -> manage members -> members -> on gallery, members: and manage your limitations there in the drop down menu for each folder

Are there any advantages/differences in joining a group in regards to posting art or are 'submit' and 'contribute' basically the same thing?

i have done everything it says,and its being reviewed,but im now waiting 3 hourse and it still hasnt submitted my art.i put in the right category,do you maybe know why

Hi!, I've been experiencing trouble submitting to a group that I'm a contributor for, I can't submit to any of the folders, I've tried submitting then adding (from within the group and on the submission) but it either comes up with an error or says that it's been submitted and is pending approval (i know it never goes through because i'm apparently on auto-accept for anything I submit but i never see it in the group) So far only one image has made it in the group and I think someone else added it ://Β

Not sure why you're getting this error. Is the group accepting submissions? Maybe it's expiring because it hasn't been accepted? I've not seen that particular error before. You might need to submit a help desk ticket :/

If I'm at my 10-per day limit and I remove something I submitted today, am I allowed to make one more submission to make up for the one I deleted, or I can't submit something else because I've already reached my limit and it's irreversible?

You'll probably have to wait. I'm sure it counts how many times you've submitted today vs. what's already submitted

Excuse me, but can you tell me what to do when the group is waiting for my approval to send it into a group? I only have the option to withdraw and if I press the "x" button the thing goes away from my notifications but my art still isn't in the group.....halp. pls.

It depends on how long the group has it set for. You can adjust the settings in the backend but that's something only the group founder/MOD's will know. Unless they have it listed somewhere.

Hello! I have a question...I'm a Founder in a group and I just recently hosted a Contest for my group and there seems to be a problem to submitting art to the Contest Folder. I mean I have a submit button, butΒ there isn't a submit button to the folder to others in my group. How do I let the folder allow submissions to others?

Hmmmm based on the screenshots you sent, it looks like the folder isn't enabled to allow submissions from general members ( or visitors). What is your group so I can test it myself?

I scrolled through all your galleries and was able to contribute art (via the button on the front page and as well the + sign next to the gallery). EXCEPT "Other" and "Requests".
So there must be a setting not enabled correctly in the backend for the folder you are trying to submit to. I'd double check that you have members/mods/ etc. able to modify that particular gallery.

I have a question. On the panel it says 'Group you are in' and 'Group you aren't in', it says you can submit art to groups you are in, and Contribute art for groups you aren't in. I joined a group but I can only Contribute art (I got the note saying I was accepted in too). Is it a glitch or is it just because I just joined the group?

i am a member of this one group called "transformice", every time i try to submit art to it, it auto rejects with a sign "withdrawn" and one of the co-leaders told me to turn it off then or something, even thought i dont know where, can any1 please help?

That's odd. If the folder is allowed to be submitted to it just wont allow you to submit to it. Not sure where this featured is turned on/off at. You might want to browse your galleries for members ( or mods ) and look for your folder and make sure that it's ALLOWED to be submitted to.

One thing I don't get.. What is the featured folder for? Do only submissions posted in the Featured folder appear in the watch feed of watchers, or all pictures posted in a group?

The 'featured' folder is designed to have featured deviations people can submit to. So for example in my group the featured folder is where I showcase some great works and on the front page you can include this in a special widget : ) So you can use it to display featured art instead of an entire gallery.
