8F No. 48624 accelerates away from Loughborough on the Great Central Railway, Leicestershire.
The 8F steam engine has a 2-8-0 wheel formation and is a tender engine built by only survivor built by Southern Railway in 1943. Withdrawn from service in 1965 and sold to Woodham Brothers, spending 1965 to 1981 at Barry Scrapyard. When bought, it left with a different tender, as its own tender had been sold separately.
With 28 years [1981 to 2009] of service at Severn Valley Railway. Working for Peak Rail from 2009 to 2011.
It has been at the Great Central Railway since 2011.
