Here it is, the (final?) cover of my comic book "Clues"!Now, I just hope my publishers, and you guys (maybe future readers?
) are happy with it!I fixed a lot of things (or at least tried to) according to all your wonderful comments! I couldn't thank you enough for pointing out what was wrong with pic, and therefore help me try to fix this beast!
So, this took me 13 hours to color (in a row... I didn't stop) and around 170 layers (one for each little detail... sounds probably ridiculous, but at least, if I have to change a color anywhere, it's much easier!)
I really do hope you enjoy this! Never have I worked this much on a picture! phew!
Oh, and I'm making a print out of this if you want!

Cette couverture est vraiment très aboutie, et a bien évolué depuis le premier jet, c'est très intéressant à observer. Le mouvement, les différentes perspectives et tous les détails sont un plaisir pour les yeux. Autant d'heures de travail n'auront pas été vaines et donnent un sacré beau résultat.

It's really such a shame that Clues won't be out in English... Still, there's no use denying that it looks so interesting and tempting to buy all thanks to this cover. I mean, your perspective work is awesome, the character designs are well done, and the coloring is rather simple but it produces an old London-ish atmosphere. I also like the combination of traditional shading and cel-shading. Do you ink your works traditionally and color digitally?

I've been watching your work for some time and i really like it. I think it's the whole victorian/comic style of the characters that appeals to me. I'm writing a book set in a similar time but perhaps a little more georgian than victorian, still I really like your work.

I love this story! Your drawings are great! I would love to buy this book. I don't speak even a little bit french but I'm so eager to read the whole story. Great job. Maybe their will be a english version before I find a translater. That would be wonderful.

I absolutely love the Gothic/Edwardian sort of feel to this page. It is very gloomy and mysterious indeed! I wish I could read in French. Maybe I should try to learn. [If I am able to buy the comic, then I will certainly come back to tell you].

Stunning... I love the feel of coldness of the outside, the wind and the darkness... with the contrast of the warm light of the windows.
The wind sweeping the papers, the lantern and the cloak...

Ooh yes - a vast improvement. I think you were just making yourself nervous by overanalyzing your character and so he lost his identity - I do that all the time when I'm working on a big project. Subsequently, I have to send it to a friend for criticism (who usually points out the most obvious daft mistakes). So common. I love this! Particularly your highlights.

Nice, really nice. I particularly like the limited pallet.
I do agree with the comment about the lamp under the arch. It ought to be in line with the perspective of the key stone and I would use a gradient on the inside of the arch so it gets darker towards the bottom.
His face is marvelous. He has a real look of impatience. Nice highlights on his cloak.

I love that I can see just how much your vision for the book has improved, both from your rough draft to the final cover, and from your older drawings to these newer ones. I may just have to order a copy of the book... even though I've never learned French!
