Description
I've visited this particular barn before, but found it to be exactly what I was looking for at the particular moment the storm front was passing. The lower elevation ridge of clouds running down the center part of the picture is the point of convergence between the cool northern air and the warm southern air. It is a testament to see these old structures still clinging to the earth and 'against the odds' surviving the harsh wind of the seasons and the rolling storms that bully their way across the Great Plains. The foreground is pretty much all dominated by a field of adolescent wheat, which will probably not produce a good harvest this year b/c of several late season freezes.Β©Copyright Kyle Wright. Wonderful. Love the depth. Beautifully composed too. with the little barn sitting to one side, almost as if to say, "Now presenting, center stage....Sky Drama!"
Love all the detail too.

It's kind of a double edged sword, both good and bad...I'm hoping we get some more amazing looking weather. I'm getting the itch to do some storm chasing!

This was taken in the middle of western Oklahoma, not too far from the Canadian River valley. You can just barely see the rise of elevation on the horizon, which is the north slope of the river valley.
