Description 180 degree, north to south panoramic photo of the base of a supercell thunderstorm in western Oklahoma. In this photo, you can see more of the counter clockwise 'hook echo' or circulation of a wall cloud. The distinct lowering can be seen peaking out from behind the column of rain. I am really pleased with how these shots turned out and the color really is amazing. On one side there are the warm highlights from the sunset and on the other side are the cool colors cast in the shadow of the strengthening storm. There is probably some science associated with this, but my parents and their parents before them have always said, "that if the clouds appear greenish in tint, there is hail on its way!" And let me tell you that this is definitely true with this storm! You can see some of the aqua green in some of the clouds on the left half of the picture.

Here are other pictures of the same storm: [link] & [link]

Amazing shot, I hope you got out of there before all hell poured forth! The colors are just sickening (good). Sometimes I look at clouds and think, god is in the clouds today.

I always thought that green clouds meant a tornado is going to form. Interesting. Incredible capture of the storm!

i love the green clouds on the left, and along with the bottom of the wall, anyone living over in the clear side has no idea how bad its gonna be, cuz all they see is the wall, which could look bad i guess.. but theres no warning for the hail lol. doesn't look like the storm would last very long though
