Description
Fast BreakOperation Baseline
New battles...old wars.
This poster depicts the battle at Saint Lô, France, between America forces (in this case, the 29th Infantry) and the German Panzer Lehr Division. Most of Saint Lô was destroyed by Allied bombs, with the church remaining as one of the few standing buildings. With approximately 95% of the city destroyed, it became dubbed the "The Capital of the Ruins." Featured, are two American P-47 Thunderbolts buzzing the skies and the feared German Tiger tank.
This image is a interpretation of my imagination and is comprised of probably 30-40+ different and separate photographs, mixed with created elements, blended and contorted together in an attempt to create an image that tells a story and inspires interest. I have to admit, this was an ambitious project for myself since I knew it would be complex to piece together and would require myself to grow my abilities to reach my goal with the image. My hopes are that it leaves a sense of aww and creates some heightened buzz.
